The "Thank you Breakpoint Team" Thread

category: general [glöplog]
I know there's the "Thank you streaming team" and "Breakpoint 2008" Thread but no thread to explicitly thank the whole Breakpoint team (which is probably still cleaning up our mess ;-)

THANK YOU FOR THAT AWESOME PARTY!

The only complaint I have is the weather, please try to get a better weather supplier next year ;-)

HATS OFF TO ALL OF YOU!

Hi Joghurt.
The weathersystem was developed by God, infact we dont have access to the sourcecode, even if some teammembers permanently try to hack his system - they didnt manage it for now.

And by the way...thank YOU for the awesome party.
A party without such awesome crowd - is just a LAN Party. :-)

Regards

even though I totally hated the weather this time round... (I mean.. gee.. hale.. and snow.. and cold.. and mud.. and I got a freakin' cold as well)..

BUT.. I think it helped into getting more people inside the party place, watching and participating in more compos.. so might not have been as bad as it seemed

oh.. and enormous thanks to the orgas =) Marvellous job once again.

haha Gargaj ;D
thank you scamp and the whole organizing team, you did a great job again. I really had a nice first party here ;)
Fuckings to fuckings to the weather - I think the atmosphere was even better than last year. People were *slightly* less drunk overall, I think, and so I've come away from Breakpoint actually to remember conversations I had with people, which is very cool. Sure, it was a shame not to be able to hang around outside as much, but forcing everyone into the beertent and those exciting little corridors probably let everyone get to know eachother much better.

It was great not to have to worry about the partynet - as far as I can tell, it was up the whole time (although I was afk and drinking for a large proportion) and it was a decent enough speed over wireless. Huge applause for that.

Bigscreen - not much needs to be said. Excellent. Sound system? quite a bit too much BASS in the music compos (and maybe some brutal outboard compression?) but the demos sounded great later on.

My biggest thanks go to Okkie for being a great orga who was approachable and eager to help. Not like the others weren't, of course, but Okkie helped us out with a few things in particular.

Thank you, Breakpoint team! Seems you are already big enough to organize a great party without me having to be present. :)

Actually I liked the ice-effect / frozen mud stuff on monday morning, too!

did that effect look demoish?
thanks BP team.
However please try to give us more occasions to enter the Shower Compo. 2x1hour daily for so many stinking male scener ain't exactly enough.
And as for monday, it'd be cool if you could let people take the goodbye shower early in the morning, as a lot of us are living far-far away, and tries to leave early. (Well i know we should stay till the prizegiving... )

oh yeah and next year, extend the voting deadline to 10:00 since you're anyways always starting one hour late :P
Thank you breakpoint for the lots of Toilet Paper! The Party wouldn't be without it!

it was an excellent party. i had so much nice communication there, and wasn't bored for even one second. everything was done pretty smooth. thanks a lot, breakpoint team, and see ya guys at evoke!

the only minus were 4 wc cabins for ~1000 people. i guess many people waking up with "bierschiss" remember standing 15 minutes in pain waiting to get a cabin... but well, the architecture of the hall cant be really changed.

I am quite stunned each year ... every single event you seem 100% in control of both time and space .. but when it comes to the prizegiving .. you suck .. and always have ... A LOT of people have to go a long way home, and others may miss getting there prize for months cause they have to catch an airportshuttle.

But besides that, most perfect party each year ..

..oh and next year, please tell the women in the bar outside that she has to learn just a bit english and demand the same payment for things from time to time. But .. it also made it more interesting going there since you never knew what you were getting ;)

dwarf: Yup, and there is a simple reason to that: On Sunday evening after the demo compo it's the first and only time during the party where "everything is done", and there is not much left to be organized - so all organizers try to enjoy the rest of the party, drinking, dancing, talking with visitors - going to bed far too late to be alive again the next morning.

Probably we should at least try to set the prizegiving time to a realistic value, like 12:30 or so instead of delaying it each year.. ;)
