NVScene 2008!
category: general [glöplog]
Actually, I have pestered the webmanagers of nvision2008.com about that picture already.. :) And no Puryx, the LAN party is elsewhere, not in the NVScene area.
I do agree that prizes aren't everything, but I still think they ought to be mentioned (especially after people actually ASKED about them :)

gloom: but the LAN party is announced on the same page, or have I misunderstood something? :)
puryx: In as much as both "Demoscene" and "GeForce LAN" is written in the same meny hierarchy, then yes, but come on.. :)
it's the same building, but different hall.
Ah ok... well, it doesn't bother me too much - this is a combined event concerning people having fun with their computers :) a lot of us make a living of those gamers you know? ;)
Speaking of "combined event", I'm really looking forward to this: http://www.nvision2008.com/Enthusiasts/nvision-concert.cfm

2. we managed to get rob is jarig through! :D
i think ile deserves a demobox now.
oh and speaking of looking forward, when are the compos and how's that livestream (across the atlantic) coming along?
We're working on a few possible solutions for the stream, but more details when we have more definite answers I guess is the sensible approach here. :)
Heh, if the compos run in the evening in the US, europeans will have to get up really friggin' early to watch the stream (if it ends up being a live broadcast)

so dont run it in the evening :)
sure enough, we're not the target audience of the event, the participants are. but starting the compo at 15:00 instead of 22:00 (+ a stream) will surely make a lot of us eu folks happy, and most of all i think it'll boost active support of a thing like nvscene for later years, among most of its contributors (who are non-attending europeans).

Gloom : canadians won't have to ;)
Keops: But surely Canadians will take the trip to California? ;)
very unlikely for the reasons I told you this morning ;)
keops, you're already a canadian?? :( :( no baguette? :(
skrebbel : Canada has a better "soccer" team ! :)
22:00 california time is 7:00 CET, so it's not even that bad :)
Keops is Frenchanadian :(
it's ok, we'll drunkdial him :D
a quick notification about the rule change:
The demos must run in 1920 x 1080! (not 1280x720 as it was previously in the rules)
4ks may run in lower but must support widescreen. Separate versions are ok, as long as they are under 4k.

I guess I could make a demo run in that resolution if I had a demobox. But noooo, cause I'm not special enough so I have to "apply" for a demobox, and I have to do it "in time". Pfft.

Yah I know, CBA to read 20 pages of people complaining that they're not getting free stuff

holy bejesus. better bring on that hardware then :)
plek: it's nvidia after all - it would be freaky if the demos would cough on their own hardware :)
that's not what he meant
