and besides, lugge will be somewhere in oceania, so I guess he'd need to play pretty loud for you to hear him :)

No Lug00ber this year? BOOOOOOH! Sleeping too loud music is the only way to sleep. Preferly Richie Hawthin type.......my neighbours really do hate me!

I would just like to personally thank EVERYONE who attended Solskogen 2008 - what a GREAT PARTY WE HAD! It was a blast to host it, and I hope you guys (and gals) enjoyed yourself as much as as I did.. :)

Now for food + shower + sleep. In that order.

Jäkla bra party =) The rain killed the party outdoors but it made it more cozy inside. Great respect to the organizer and to Darklite for making this party what it was, AWESOME! ;D

Yeah as written before - thanks to everybody for a nice party - however the compos was half "killed", as they were played way too late, and even worse was that you didnt have any information about when they were to start.
Apart from that I had a great time, and quite a lot of caipirinhas, which was the goal for the weekend :D

good point from puryx. i didn't mind the slightest bit, but a bit more info about the compos (on beforehand) wouldn't have hurt, really :)

i do recommend you use a beamslide system next year, it's just a lot faster for putting quick infothingies out. put out a public request for a vga switch, someone must have one. or just alt+tab to and from a fullscreen beamslide window :-)

oh btw gloom, ups for keeping (outline-sponsored) atari bee in the infofile :D (and maybe a handfix of my equal-vote-count=>same position nonfeature would've been nice too - i'll add it to the system though)

For a first time solskogen visitor, i must say it reminds me of our long lost scene event, it has this nice feel to it.. and it couldn't have been much better until we reached the compo .. delaying the compos for 6 hours without giving out information why, is just not good. The rumors had it that was because 1 particular entry had to be completed - which I hope is not true.

The original compo time would have been perfect ..

And when peoples stuff doesn't work, skip it, and then show it at the end with their own hardware - at least when some are using Ubuntu or other 1337 OS, make them suffer for that mistake ;)

Otherwise, i really liked it and might even come back next year with even more danes..

oh and get a microfone also ;)

As each year, an awsome party.....thanx a bunch for good times.
But agree with the danes, the compos did get abit out of hand, hard to know when intro compo ended and democompo started. I see also that in the current votingresults the RNO and DEPTH demos are in the combineddemo list, they should be in oldskool.....well well, better luck next time ;)
Excellent bbq btw :)

what orbiter said: darklite <3 <3 <3

oh, and come to kindergarden, no delays! :D

KG has no delays ? ... sure. Stop with the fucking "we are better than you attitude" Leia; it's becoming annoying.

maybe they ARE better - i'll collect a jury who shall attend both parties and decide ;)

dozer: i think it's because it's so obvious that both parties are *very* alike, hence it's funny. even the building they're in is virtually the same. the organisers are part of the same clique, the attitude to how to do a demoparty is essentially the same. as such, i believe leia's joke is quite obvious.

it'd be different if kindergarden was in a hotel with a full hd screen (as if that matters) and professional catering.

What an awesome party, too bad it poured down saturday and sunday. The bbq was a nice touch and emphasized the atmosphere of the party place.

Suggestions for next year:

1) Don't delay compos THAT much (without proper notice/information)
2) Get more organisers or split up so it doesn't become a one man show :-)
3) Make a small "shop" where one can buy beer, etc :-)
thanks for a great party! I was quite happy that we won the soccer compo, but remember: we couldn't have done it without the speed juice!

Macaw: I agree to all of your points :)

Dwarf: the delays werw bad, sorry for that. There is no truth to the rumor though - they were delayed simply due to the fact that the demos had to be tested and the testing did start late because of the sudden flash rain on saturday that smudged the dinner-serving plan. Next year we'll have the back-up plan in place earlier :)

Dozer: what skrebbel said :)

also, I think everyone who's ever been to kindergarden knows that there are delayed compos there. I guess the all time record is 8 in the morning.. in 1996 :)

but ok, rephrase: If you liked this party, come to kindergarden as well, because all parties in norway rule :)

Leja: much better. :)

It's true, both parties are good, although KG is arranged in the middle of nowhere, during freezing winter, so you have "more reason" to code instead of huffing and puffing outside in the freezing cold.

Solskogen has sun (we did, you just weren't outside when it was there), and the infamous bbq & soccer tournament.
