Pouet feature proposal

category: general [glöplog]

Yeah, I know, everyone and the next guy hates those feature proposals (Hello, admins!! :-) ), but I will just give it a try:

Wouldn't it be nice to have some kind of "Latest Finals" list on the front page?

Sometimes, final versions are announced in the news, but more often they are not. So this feature might be helpful to find the finals of those productions that didn't run on your config the first time around. Otherwise you're more likely to stumble upon those finals just by coincidence...

btw, as for your feature request: nothing stops you from doing this clientside, just track the prod page for changes in the d/l section... btw, there's already enough mess in the database for us gloperators and admins to handle, no need to add any more when it's only useful for a tiny subset of the scene.

Hmm, I know, thats the trend nowadays... maybe we should rename Pouet to "PouTube"? :-)

Funny thing is: that crazy guy "EP" once suggested in one of his Hugi rants that demos should only be distributed as videos. And he got flamed for that. Badly. Grilled. And rightfully so. And now everyone seems to accept this very idea... I dunno.

people usually add bitfellas new item when releasing a final, so there isnt much point in having an extra featurette

There's finals?
No. But sometimes there are false promises to do final versions.
