2nd telnet connection was causing it to hang. I came home from lunch and reduced it to one telnet node.. This is a crazy request but is anyone still familiar with Amitcp and telnetd ?????? I will play around with it when I return home from work.. Anyway it should be back up and stable til then.

There should be a prod category here on Pouet called "BBS". This would go straight to the top and stay there.
oh my fucking DEMOSCENE.

I have archives that havel ascii ads for Uzi Suicide (: Hell I should post one (:

I can now call Ice Cream (ok it's not Ice Cream anymore but still) and trade something to Uzi Suicide (: Now I just have to yell at Fury to bring Dial Hard back online (: And try to get Rotor to bring up Gates of Asgard (:

Of course when I saw Dodke's post, I thought for a second the BBS had resurfaced in Cleveland.

DonDog: Yeah, I am familiar with telnetd and amitcp, but not as familiar as Fury, but chances are we can get it running better. Mind you, you're likely to have one caller per week (: But hey that works too.

When calling Uzi Suicide, I fully suggest using either my Propaz font, or using DMG's P0t-nOodle. Though I don't have them converted for Syncterm use yet. They work fine for rxvt-unicode, however. And Putty as well.

Speaking of one caller per week, Accession's BBS (Haciend El Bananas) at haciend.bbs.fi needs more players for Global War (And Creedance would really like some competition in TradeWars, since I convinced him to play and then promptly said "no, I can't do that, it takes too much time and I have a demo to code.)

I suggest using Syncterm for obvious reasons you'll know when at Haciend.

You should also call Haciend if you did the f*n kickass Ansi stuff for Buenzli, or Ascii for Evoke, or heck just want to call a board with kickass pc ansi decorations.

Followed by, of course, calling Uzi Suicide, because a proper BBS session does not stop at one board.
it works, and it's a great fun :D

There has to be a way to get more than one telnet node.. Back in the day I had 4 nodes ringdown and one telnet node. I had the board up from 88-97. I finally shut it down when I moved away and got a real job. At the time there was no internet connection where I was living and it just wasn't fun anymore. So anyway I was home at my parents over the holidays last year and saw my amiga was still there.. My mom had thrown away my keyboard mouse and all my disks.. So after some searching on ebay I found some parts and then went to amigakit and bought a mediator and network card. After playing around with it for a few months I decided to put the board back online. I hadn't touched an Amiga in over 10 years so it is amazing how much you forget but it does bring back the good memories that were gone when I shut the board down.

excellent, the connection seemed to work better today than yesterday.

adding to truck, let's hope that ramses gets his amiga resurrected, so uphold the law will find its way back online too. that, and the yard.
so far the only thing i've been connecting to during the last years was antidote, there really need to be more boards again. =)
