I guess he forgot the most important piece of information, ie, what the job is about:

https://www.lucasfilm.apply2jobs.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=mExternal.showJob&RID=637&CurrentPage=1

Otherwise their movies should be valid as "demoreel" I think...

iq: Are you sure it's the same job? The one you posted is listed in San Francisco, but cybernostra said LA.

On another note, I'm a bit amazed with how it seems Lucasfilm / ILM think they can fuck around with people. In the link you posted they demand quite a lot of education and experience, and still only offer hourly payment. That's pretty crappy, IMO.

I would say it's that's the job, cybernostra said about a trip to LA to recuit people, but he asks to send the demoreels to SF. In anyways, at least from that link one can know what's behind that fancy "Creature Technical Director", and indeed, interesting, you need to know anatomy, C++, Maya/XSI, Linux, plus few years of experience in professional animation, not bad. I just missi "2 years of experience in chip tune tracking" there. It seems like a mission that only a pure demsocener can accomplish!!

Yeah, animator is supposedly not a very desirable job. It's highly competitive and pays fuck all. And yes, hourly wage seems ridiculous with the required qualifications they list. Not really relevant to a lot of sceners anyway:

Quote:
At least 3 years work experience required in 3D CGI for digital animation, visual effects or producing CG characters and creatures for visual media.

Quote:
Feature Film experience required.

gloom: So does kindergarden, but most people going there don't have any education at all!
slummy: Requiring 3 years work experience and feature film experience to attend Kindergarden would indeed be a new pair of Bad Idea Jeans, yes.

For kindergarden, I'd work to fill out any requirements they have.

The only reason to take that job would be so it looks good on your resume the next time you apply for a job. ;)
