Tomaes vs Adok vs Pouet (leave me out of this).

category: general [glöplog]
Reading some of the BBS topics here. I have noticed that there is some "bad blood" between you two [Tomaes & Adok].

I don't know either of you and I am not for or against either of you any more than I am for or against the rest of the scene. In that I support the "oldshool" and don't much care for "nuschool". Anyone interested in making prods for "oldschool" systems has my support (even Atari users or the B.I.T.S. club), unless there is politics in it 'coz politics sucks!

As far my as politics goes, I am an idealistic anarchist who thinks that (in a perfect world) we could all get along without laws. However in the mean-time I am pretty content with our AU Government, although IMHO the voting system is a crock and I choose not to participate. We get pretty much the same thing with either Liberal or Labour (Greens & Democrats obviously have no intention of ever holding power).

In our Australian culture, multiculturalism is embraced and racism/sexism/and most other isms are UNACCEPTABLE. That is my understanding, and I am proud to share a country where the majority also share this view. To be fair, it's much the same in Germany too (from my understanding).

@Tomaes, please accept my apology for calling you a Nazi. I should know better, I was having a REALLY BAD DAY on NYE/NYD. And was in a bad mood. I am a little disappointed that a request for tutorial was responded to with trolling, but I forgive you (and the others who did the trolling too).

@Adok, I don't know if the allegations of facism against you (& Hugi) are true or not, and I don't really care. But if they are then I would kindly suggest to you to go and meet some of these people you hate with a willingness to give them "the benefit of the doubt".

I would like to wish you ALL a happy new year. Have a Boag's Draught on me. Although good luck finding it outside of Tasmania/Victoria. Boag's premium sucks just like your German beers. It would be churlish of me not to point out that Grolsh (dutch beer) is drinkable also.

Oh and do you pronounce it "Poet", or "Pow-et", or what? I use both and I'm pretty sure I'm wrong on both counts. Does it mean something in some language other than English?

Wankopedia says:
Quote:
The name “Pouët” comes from the French onomatopoeia for the trumpet sound.

So it means "honk!" basicly :)

Ahh, it's funny the direction Pouet BBS topics often take, that is on a tangent!

It's indeed plesant to have friendly banter.

I want a bumper sticker which says something like "Honk for Pouet". It would look nice covering the ventilation on my A1200. It's a good idea to cover these as to prevent "beer damage", although not if you have an accelerator which runs hot (of course:-).

Cheers.
Oh I should point out that Ript^Disaster Area makes the most kick-arse beer of all! But I understand that if he tried to bring it into Germany he would probably get arrested.

Lemongrass beer anyone? Tastes much, much better than it sounds!

It always amazes me how people spill out their hearts on the pouet bbs in the hope that anyone cares :)

pouët != serious discussion scene && serious discussion scene != pouët

I've been reading some recent issue of Hugi.

Freedom of speech is a noble cause, facism would seek to destroy this and yet it takes advantage of it. Ironic. Anyway...

The editorial team would be wise to put a STRONG disclaimer before AND after certain articles.

Probably something like:

Quote:
THE OPINIONS EXPRESSED IN THIS ARTICLE IN NO WAY REPRESENT HUGI OR ANY OF IT'S EDITORIAL STAFF

...and maybe a dismissive comment from the editor at the end.

That would save the editorial team A LOT of trouble, and still be keeping with the idea of free speech.

Apart from one or two articles which made me a little depressed it was quite entertaining.

But what really pisses me off about Hugi is having to use Windows to read it. Windows sucks!

I like the HTML Remix though. Pity I can't leave a production comment/thumb for that. That's why I comment here. Thumbs up Adok!
ENLARGE your pouet.....

don't know how I missed the on-line edition. crap.

Once you said it you can't unsay it :-) It's the pouet way! If it wasn't half-arsed and badly spelled (sic.) it just wouldn't be me anyway, that's just my charisma I guess.

yeah I know, spelt. ciao.
