sverker, if you think i get mad at people having certain hobbies, then you should re-read this thread. for me, of course, people can embrace whatever thing they want. some like old computers, others like eurodance, like okkie pointed out, and yet others are really into collecting stamps.

what i was on about is how the demoscene becomes more and more equal to the "old computer" scene - not only on pouet, but also on demoparties. the "old computer" scene, to me, is something very different. especially because it's not very creative, but just a piece of history worship just like my parents keep watching videotapes of long dead comedians who i think aren't funny.

i already agreed that my first postings in this thread were misplaced and badly timed, and apologised to johnl about it. apparently, that is not enough for either of you - well then i simply don't know anymore.

also, i think it is very brave of you to tell me my name without telling me yours.

your trackerscene nickname would be fine. please tell me you're not rudy bentmoore, though.

ahh, psychad. you really do change attitudes entirely every three years, don't you?

Sorry for attacking you skrebbel I was totally out of line.

I am not psychad or rudy bentmoore or anyone else from the tracker scene. My handle is sverker.

Hey, I'm not angry or anything :)
I've been on forums many times and for many years, I know what they're like.
I was just a little disappointed at the instant negative reaction when I've usually found people here fairly welcoming.

I've been to parties, albeit the same one three times. I'm trying to fix that, but it's hard when you live on the edge of the civilised world!

It's still a good song, and a very very good performance of it.
It may not be strictly demoscene, but I thought it would appeal to a lot of people on here, who may or may not be demoscene, and that's why I posted it.

Skrebbel... If you think that oldschool computers and fans of it are like your parents keep watching videotapes, then you should maybe accept, that for us oldschool computers fans are sometimes some other sceners are like TokioHotel-Fans. :)

So welcome to the jungle...

btw johnl: thx for the link... i always like the stuff from Reyn.

A video of a well known SCENER playing an exceptionally skilled live rendition of an infamous tune. Relevant to a scene forum? Yes. More relevant than, for example, all those million "random meme X" threads? Yes. Awesome? Hell yes.

If you're seriously allergic to even the slightest reference to old computers, best take your bitching and moaning to some high-end NVIDIA GPU user forum.

Actually, probably not "intrinsically" demoscene-related, but I can understand johnl motivations for posting it here... the chances of having people in this forum know what wizball is and appreciate the video, is much much higher than in 90% of other kind of forums... so I guess the link/post was kinda adequate IMHO.

I can understand the reasoning behind skrebbel's ranting, but I don't share it.

Great link, nice performance, loved it.

"how the demoscene becomes more and more equal to the "old computer" scene"

I can not understand what makes you think that. what evidence do you have on this?
