Brokepoint - Breakpoint 2009 is in danger and needs YOUR support

aeko: I'd totally vote for that :)

I truely believe and understand, that Breakpoint is one of the most expensive partys/+place.
But because of the financial crisis - and times are changing, - its inevitable to go back to the underground.

in the future, there wont be any big partys anymore. we will meet again
in abandoned schools, private clubs or old village houses. it will be overcrowded,
raw and noisy. things will get messy for sure.

we are going right back to the underground where it all started.

but whats wrong with that?
time to wake up!

the mass hysteria is over. People are getting old.
cut the big places, catering and all that fancy ballons - and just make breakpoint smaller and
more affordable. The Standards are too high to keep at this level, folks.

it was possible in 1990 to have the same fun for 20 dollar and warm canned beer + lousy food.

jazz: Well, I actually DO hope that the collapsing global economy will lead to positive changes on how the humans in that utterly incompetently organized world live together. But still I don't think the scene will be affected that much. And to be honest, no, I don't mind being undergrund.

I don't think we'll be going back to where we started, though.

It's official : If you buy a Breakpoint supporter Ticket (€250+) you also get a FREE entry to Breeze 2009 in Lisbon. If we manage to find a place where to host the party. ;)

I'll try to donate something now.

Okay. I just donated. The last year it was much fun watching the live stream, so here you go.

I'll do my best! Being a student I can't afford 250EUR but I'll try to help out.

By the way the website contains an typo : 'optons' -> 'options'.

It is not a typo, it is a secret message.

"Optons" backwards is "Snot P.O", i.e. the Snot Post Office. Conspiracy?
Too bad i cant support you now coz i havent got welfare for 5 months and its to be expected in at least 3 weeks. Maybe next time you should really try to find a location more in the east. We are more desperate for the money. ;-)

Have you considered this?

DKEV seems to be charitable ("gemeinnützig") according to their webpage. So, they could try to register collecting donations for BP2009. If they succeed, donations from German sceners are tax deducible! As you can have up to 20% of your income as such "special expenses" ("Sonderausgaben") here, this let's you redirect some money you have to pay anyhow. Okay, it may not really look like a "donation" then; it is more like putting some taxes to things which are important to you :)

with bp being desperate for money, it will be more difficult to get pre-party banned this year, you know what this means lator!
dubmood, no pre-party at all this year due to the table tennis tournament mentioned in scamps first post...

I'll donate some money too, and I strongly hope for a live stream this year as I'll handle it like Gloom and spend Easter with my little son.

ninjadrm: This is a really cool idea! If it would be tax deductible maybe some more people were willing to buy a supporter ticket...

Yeah, well. Those 20$ would probably be at least ~30€ by now... (inflation, the euro, etc.). So there's not much we can do about.

There may be also other possibilities to save some money: scrape wifi, no video streaming (come to the party people), move the seminar area to the orga-area again, the way it was 2? years ago (and turn the volume of the soundsystem down abit ;) ), make the shuttle service not go to the town, only to the train station and the airport or only let it run on the day when people arrive/leave (dunno if that'll save money). And make the beer a little bit more expensive maybe.

ryg: I think he was referring to lators former bp-ban (as in banned prior to the party, not banned from the pre-party). But wasn't that lifted in the end anyway?

Even small streams make into big rivers. I've updated the Scene.org BP09 sponsoring fund page - over 700 euros in one night (donations ranging from 10 to 100 euros). Keep it up, folks! :)

rare: nono, you cannot turn supporter tickets into dontations. They must be true donations, i.e. you still have to pay a ticket to enter BP.

That was not what I meant. If you'd donate to Digitale Kultur and they sponsor Breakpoint you'd get the best out of both worlds...

I just paid in 50 euro to the sponsor fund on scene.org. I'm gonna donate as much as I can!
