category: general [glöplog]
Don't know about coffeeshops in Eersel, but its near a highway that leads to Belgium. I'm sure it must be crammed with drugs all the way!

Eersel... That is about 2:45 by train from where I am now to Eindhoven and then a bit more.

The NS is pretty much going to have to fuck you up the ass for just being what they are -incompetent. However, considering the awesome community that is Outline, rest assured you'll get a pickup from whatever location the train decided to derail, "pause" or quit working due to foilage (leafs) on the tracks.

If that wasn't enough to rejoice about, rest assured that Outline is the least likely demoparty to panhandle on the internet.

Maybe, it might be nice to have a pre meeting in Amsterdam before the actual party, if there're enough early arrivers.
I'm in! :)

seeing as I'll most likely attend outline as well this year, I'm in for a meet as well :_)

a) amsterdam is kind of far from eersel but on the other hand it probably makes a bit of sense
b) catching a train from somewhere in .nl to eindhoven should not be a problem, and i dont foresee any horrible fuck crap all weather situation in may

plek, so you're coming? great!

Indeed, direct trains go from the amsterdam region as well as from the the hague/rotterdam region every 15 minutes, during daytime. it may be slightly less on ascension day, but still i'm sure the connections are good. Also, Eindhoven is connected to the "nachtnet" these days, which means that trains go to and from Eindhoven about once per hour even in the middle of the night, or at least in weekends.

Basically, i'm sure you can make it to Eersel easily from just about anywhere.

Additionally, we may organise pickup services just over the border in Belgium if people are flying to Belgian airports (e.g. Brussels Zaventem or Charleroi) and it turns out that taking the train to the Netherlands would seriously increase travel times (connections aren't that good).

pandur, a partytent and bbq, for sure. camping (i.e. sleeping) in a tent maybe not, because this is only allowed in the designated "camping area" which is kind of disconnected from the partyplace. if you want to do that anyway, however, just get in touch and I'll arrange a camping spot. there is a field right in front of the party hall through, but because it's a sports field the owner doesn't like tents to be set up (ruins the soil, etc). There's a great spot for BBQ'ing and partytenting though, so that'll work out just fine. Part of the terrace is even covered so if the weather really sucks, we can just sit there and still fry sausages.

(yes, I asked about all of this, purely with you guys in mind!)

yes i am. no breakpoint for me, so i guess this is a nice alternative. that aside i also wanted to go check out the surrounding area (valkenswaard, bergeijk, de woeste polder) with alex anyway.

and pandur, a bit of rain wont stop our trains from ridin' -- thats the only 1 thing that isn't a problem: dull, rainy weather with moderate temperatures :)

@plek: Can we escpect a release or is it too soon to discuss this already? If I'm right you have at least a couple of lines (code) lying around?

i haven't been able to finish anything for almost 6 years now so i'm done making promises :)

but yup, we have a solid codebase, some effects and some ideas. so maybe.

pandur: just for the record, those pictures were taken in july! sure, you could argue this means it rains the whole summer in holland, but to that i would have to reply that rain more usually coincides with my birthday than with summer in general, so may should be safe after all! :-)

besides, pandur knows how awesome the weather was last year! we got sunburnt!
the owner of the place told me that at ascension weekend, good weather was part of the package deal.

Well I've experienced good weather and bad weather at Outline, but the party still rocks!
