Do your kids like demos ?

category: offtopic [glöplog]
Some or many of us already have kids, so I thought it might be funny to post their judgement about demos here.

Yesterday I showed for the very first time some demos to my son, who is now 3,5 years old.

I showed him Stiletto, he wanted to watch it again.
I showed him Candytron, he said he liked "the other one with the woman" more.
I showed him The Popular Demo, he laughed at all the dancing guys, but didn´t want to watch it again.

Then I thought, as his greatest interest is listening and making music (first thing every morning he does is jump outta the bed, take a seat at his toy-drumkit with his pyjama still on and start drumming and singing Living after Midnight by Judas Priest and/or Narcotic by Liquido), I will show him something with features drums and guitars.

So Meet the Family was the next prod to show to him.
He wanted to watch it over and over again, but already the second time, he had the following complaints:

a) the guitarmonkeys´ guitar has no strings
b) the bassmonkeys´ bass has no strings
c) the drummermonkey uses no drumsticks

Any other demos I should show to him? MFX maybe? ;)

OK, letting a 3-year-old judge on demos might be unfair, but then again I thought, ... "hey, pouet sometimes is just like that" ;)

Pouet is primarily 3-year olds, you got that right.

.. but if you wanna know if your kid has style, let him check out som flo productions .. if he likes them, you (and your son) got my respect ;)

Okay, it's not exactly Rated E for Everyone<tm>, but you already mentioned Candytron, so... have you thought of showing him I Feel Like a Computer by Melon Dezign? :)

/not a parent

(And I'm just as annoyed by the inaccuracies in Meet the Family ;)

Glon 243 by Cocoon of course. (Just please noone ever show it on a bigscreen again, I'm sick of it :D)

And if I Feel Like a Computer passes, so should Little Green Frog. (<3)

Beyond by Conspiracy is almost edutainment ;)

Also, Paradise by RGBA.

Dead Ringer by Fairlight maybe?

And Kindergarten Boogie by Bluebox Cinematique GmbH! :D YESSS!!! Dammit, there's no video?! :(

My four year old daughter likes:
IV-Racer by The Lost Souls, mostly because of the music
Psylteflesk by Ephidrena but she complains about the noisy music
Summer Encounter by Outracks which has pleasing girlish colors
Pornonoise by Lunix & MFX because I've shown it to her a million times :)
Paper by Psychic Link & Acme

I also think that "Three Little Goats" and "Glon 243" are excellent kiddie-demo choices.

dreamchild and planet risk because there is mummy's voice. :-)

Basically any demo, she'll find something interesting.

My son likes everything that moves on the screen. And i showed him FR-019 years ago, when he was like 4 or something. He recently saw it again and said "hey, didn't you make that, daddy?"

Verdict: Kids need demos. EARLY!

boy, 4.5 years old.

likes:
Don't stop / PP - mainly the soundtrack.
legomania / doomsday is a big hit of course - I had to burn it to DVD to have my computer back.
He was fond of Kings of the playground / Equinox when he was younger - found the hidden scroller!

dislikes:
My own demos get a solid thumb down. Not "hiphop" enough . fucking brat.

My daughter (2 years, 2 months) doesn't like rebels demos (yeah, yeah, like many of you, too). Everytime I show her something, she says "and'res lied, kenn ich nich'!" (next song, dunno that). Then she wants me to show elephant videos on youtube.
