question: networking w/ an A2000 + WB1.3

category: general [glöplog]

It appears people at Amiga.org and amigaworld.net don't have an answer. Does anyone here know if it's possibile with some standard ethernet card? How?

Maybe you can find an old NE2000 card for Amiga 2000.
Maybe you can find a driver for it.
Maybe you can find a tcp/ip stack for 1.3.
Maybe you can find a some PPP driver for such Amiga.
Maybe you can make all this work together.

Upgrade to kickstart 3, add some memory, try to find a network card, install some decent tcp/ip stack, install samba and off you go.

no the aim is lan on 1.3 .. if a c64 can do that an amiga with 1.3 must do that.

I know there are RJ45 <-> parallell adapters out there. If someone will write a driver for them then gettning on the internet with a vanilla 500 or 2000 would be a lot easier. I still don't know if there is a tcp/ip stack for kik1.3 though.. Btw, the isa slots in your A2000 are useless.

yes, there's a tcp/ip stack on aminet which runs under wb1.3.. the problem is there's no ethernet to attach. I was trying this under winuae which has a virtuale device (uaenet.device).. no cigar. The stack is in AmigaNOS

Then try to find a zorro2 network card and it should work.
