any noise stuff is pretty much out too, as it would drain the bitrate available to the other demos.

Ah ah. xD

Also 828 is quite long and boring

LONG, NEVER BORING!

Once again 828 is under attack, for reasons which are beyond me. And speaking of which, personally I'd like to see "Beyond the walls of Eryx" on the list somewhere.

RufUsul: That may have something to do with the fact that Vol 3. covers 2003-2009.

It's definitely just personal taste of course but for me Dreamchild is different enough to take a spot from Iconoclast, Come Clean is on the whole more impressive than Track One and Blockbuster > Gamma. But then again I can understand that others probably prefer the current ones and they're great choices as well.

Bombman, however, is the one demo I'd be most inclined to drop off the list for something that has gathered a little more praise. If Kolonija isn't suitable for encoding maybe another Kosmoplovci prod would fare better.

I think Bombman is just a placeholder for whatever rocks Assembly. :)

Limp Ninja - 한글 from BP '09 needs to be included as an Easter Egg or in the bonus features somewhere. Also, Rob is Jarig!

Rob is Jarig is scene legacy! No collection is complete without it! It's the Jesus Christ Superstar of the demoscene!

Also Phoenix and Trixter, we tell you tons of demos you FORGOT! Because we don't think you guys put enough time in compiling the play list of Mindcandy 3 and we know what should be on there better than you!

(I always love how that works on Pouet :D)

Okkie: people A do stuff, people B complain. Same old.

slux: thanks, i got it now ;-)

this would make 2002 the missing year in the mindcandy history as volume one covers pc demos till 2001 -> maybe trixter and phoenix should reconsider this...

maybe i should be more specific - for each demo you request, also request one demo to remove from the list. :)

on 2002: i think variform and liquid wen, and maybe others, are worthy, but, being an HD widescreen project, it's inevitable that we're going to favor newer demos that run in 16:9 and 720p or better. that's why demos like 1995 and faded memories got in instead.

on 2009: we'd like to cut off new entries soon so we can get the list locked down and produced. but yes, if there is a really kick ass demo at assembly, we can slip it in.

i gave tokyo/xplsv a look. i could see it replacing instant zen, but, i'm sorry, i cannot stand the off-key singing in the middle. the soundtracks play a big part in the choices (it helped pretending like we were making a mix cd).

blockbuster: fine demo, but gamma is a bit more polished and shows off 720p and 16:9 a lot better. but, i've been warned the halftones may not encode too well.. we'll see.

phoenix: just hack the exes. You just have to change 8 bytes. Maybe 4.
I have a personal 720p capture of ADITS.

phoenix: Remove all demos and replace them with kolonija looped to fill the disc. We don't really care about HD, so you should be able to keep it going for a couple of hours (or five-ten) without problems.

Not enough space?

Well, make two DVD/BRs then. :)

Kusma :)

Seriously though, just keep the playlist. Although keeping an eye on the Assembly 2009 releases might be a good idea before nailing it down for good.

Beyond the Walls of Eryx could replace any of the moody demos. I'd love to see it in the list as well. It adds this finely grained pepper of cyberpunk sub-reality feeling to the overall recipe.
