Tribes - Baraka

category: general [glöplog]

So I was just watching Baraka (1992) and there is a part in the movie which reminded me a lot to Tribes (1997), the audio+visuals. I wonder if Baraka inspired Tribes.

I doubt any of the people behind Tribes will read this, but I guess I don't lose anything for trying.

omg, didn't know there was a windows port of this one!!! I didn't watch it since the 2002 or so, yet I remembered every single part of it. Even if you don't find the guy this was already a useful thread for me. thx

If you like it you can try Home as well. Really nice in HD. It has a bit depressing voice over though.

Yes, I've seen that one too. In fact, a friend recomended me Baraka after watching HOME.

And a proper link to HOME would be this:

just what I did last weekend, from my bed ;)

The choreography of Home gets a bit repetitive after 10 minutes, all cameras are the same to me (almost orthographic view, zoomout and roll one scene to the left, next to the right, and repeat). But colors are cool.

I liked Koyaanisqatsi more (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koyaanisqatsi), must watch.

Interesetingly, from the wiki page of Koyaanisqatsi they link to Baraka. I will watch it next week.
