also, the trailer looks great if you ignore the tremendously gay blue characters :P

still much prefer oldskool effect based films (like aliens or terminator 2)

Is it just me or SOME of the human characters are CGI at least?
(check the sequence with the dude on the wheelchair and the oxygen mask at the beginning or so)

If you already have vlc 1.0x installed, you don't need to.

Yeah, it's not as clear cut as some might think. They shot some live action, but it's not alien stuff = 100% CG and human stuff = 100% live action. There are some traditional non-CG models there too.

skan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LP_hAszQPgk prolly smth similar to what they do to brad pitt in the end of this video. heavy remodelling of a real face.

2012, lol.
Fits well with his other classics, tho:
Independence Day, Godzilla, Day After Tomorrow, 10 000 BC...
This guy has been predicting the end of the world for quite a while now!

Back on topic: a movie with 3D actors and shit? i don't care. If you want photo-realistic actors why don't you go get some? It's not like making 3D popping images were hard to do, just add a second camera. They were able to do that in the 60s, why would it be harder today?

godverdomme Magic, donder gewoon es een keer op ofzo... heb je soms aandelen in Avatar zitten met je strontirritante spam de hele tijd? doe es iets nuttigs en ga nazipropaganda typen voor Hugi, man.

Graphically, avatar looks every bit as amazing as Star Wars ep. 1. And based on the trailers, it seems to have an underwhelming plot and story line, too. The 3D thing with the polarised projector beams never worked too well and got old a while ago.

I just got home from seeing Avatar in 3d ofcourse..

And in all honousty, James Cameron did it again! The best 3d scenes ever!
Sharp and in depth.. Very , very nice! A must see!

Nice to see Danny/TBL in the credits as visual effects artist at the end aswell ;-)

just came from watching the movie (in 3d). Some parts are visually so beautiful that I wouldnt mind to remove all the action, story, characters and keep the scenery with those oversaturated glowing translucent plants, and stuff. Just for that half an hour of demoscener content, it is worth a visit to the theater.

indeed. it totally blew me away on the visual side.
