Searching for a simple animation freeware for Windows

category: general [glöplog]

Hi,

I am desperately searching for a simple and easy to use freeware program that can convert a series of images into a video clip, with adjustable framerate. I found out that the standard Windows Movie Maker sucks rockhard for this... It should work on XP, Vista and 7.

For Mac I have found Frame by Frame wich is really cool. Any chance to find something similar on Windows?
Thanks in advance & have a nice sunday (at least here the sun is shining, guess it will be one of the last summer days for this year).

in my experience virtualdub works well for this kind of thing. it's .avi oriented though so for some codecs you may have to do things in a roundabout way (export to uncompressed .avi, recompress with some other utility), but aside from that it's quite versatile and simple to use.
OK, so I took a look at it and though it's certainly a cool program, it unfortunately doesn't support the import of several images at the same time--you have to import every image seperately which isn't a practical solution for me (batch jobs are not an option in this case).

So, the search goes on and you are all invited to help ;) !
I have to find one until tomorrow...

VirtualDub will automatically load a entire set of images as a video if you have them numbered sequentially.

IE. if you select ani_0000001.png in Open Video - it will load any ani_#######.png files also in that folder in order.

You can adjust framerate in video -> framerate -> source framerate

micksam7, thank you, just a moment before your post I found it out myself and felt quite embarressed because of my stupidity...
OK, so the search is over, hallelujah! Have a nice sunday evening!
