Fukwitt daddy - and a few others...

category: general [glöplog]

Hi,

Certain demos (eg fuckwitt daddy) when run under either vista or xp on my system have a strange display problem.

it's a geforce 9600, and I've tried a few drivers, but still the same squiffy stuff.. (can give more info if you like)

any ideas if some well hidden gfx setting could solve this?
try low resolutions. or get back to XP/another archaic windoze 'OS'
also some onboard gfx does the stuff. shit PC stuff... xD

DOS version of 'fuckwitt daddy' runs fine in dosbox if you want to try it with standard resolutions.

Random though: this could help.
The "problem" with newer geforces is that all surfaces use an internal width of 2^n, so the pitch is 1024 instead of 640.
I guess we should get that fixed in the not-so-distant future...

That'd be great, it's a classic! :)
hfr, what the hell? That "problem" has been with us since forever.
For instance my old SVGA didn't "support" 800x600x16 because it would have been effectively 1024x600 and there wasn't enough memory for that.

216, and still, there are quite a few demos which don't consider the pitch width. sol's ddhack took care of that, because obviously even game programmers made wrong assumptions.
