Searching for a hacking game website

category: offtopic [glöplog]

Some years ago I played in a website where you had to hack it. It was with different levels of difficulty, starting from searching a password in a javascript file, then in a compiled Flash file, then with hacks required server side and so on.

Do you remember the url? I've lost it, and I need it because I'm trying to teach a friend about security and that site was very educational...

Thanks in advance

(I gave up when one of the challenges was brute-forcing some hash file.)

gargaj: grab a rainbow file (a big database of pre-computed hashes).

this was in 2003, in case i didnt mention that.

well, if rainbow files were around back then it would be a lot of download at 2003 speeds :) And with that in mind, I hope they picked a very short password o0

Cyberarmy (great group btw...) used to have one.

But for a reason that is unknown to me, their site got utterly massacred, not even backups survived. They are trying to rebuild it, but probably the game will be lost forever.

A collection of hacker challenge sites with score import and "meta" ranking:
http://www.wechall.net/about_wechall

Used to be in the top 100 (as well as on hacker.org) but when you do not login for years, the rank drops gradually :)
