Easter 2011

category: parties [glöplog]
This thread is fun :)

Anyways, it really does bother me how rude people are to scamp. When you organize, year after year, the biggest REAL (hehe) sceneparty in the world.. you want the leader and boss of things to be hardheaded and direct. I remember once at BP, I think it was 09.. and there were some problems at the parkinglot with car robberies. Within 5 minutes Scamp had 90% of the crew at his disposal, dispatched guards to constantly oversee the parking area - and informed the public of what had happend and what was being done with it. He did it in a VERY direct way. Because of him being a person like that, BP never failed to deliver. And most of us here has enjoyed that kind of organizing for many years. So reading all this bitching and moaning now saddens me. I know most of it is just trolling or whatever you call it.. but still; it would be nice to see some perspective. Poeple need to understand that when it comes to time, blood, sweat and tears in arranging an easter party - scamp is the undisputed champion. Have some respect.

Wow I am gonna get flamed for this, but I am so old I dont care :)

xerxes: no, you're absolutely right - nothing but respect to scamp and the other BP orgas for their efforts over the years. But scamp has also said that he enjoys a bit of a flamewar :)

If anyone's fed up of all this, feel free to pop over my mum's house in Teignmouth where she'll make a lovely Easter roast dinner and we'll watch a Bond film with commercial breaks on ITV, followed by a walk down on the rather small beach with a pot of cockles to chew on.

All this buzz, and still noone bothers to ask the actual organizers what the party is about..

At least it will be warm :)

xrs, oh come on. scamp himself started the rudeness, and of course he knew he'd get it back into his face. he's a big boy, he can deal with it. people ridiculing his attitude on a forum has nothing to do with whether they respect his work for all breakpoints.

I for one do respect Scamp, and the whole Breakpoint team, for building an institution and organizing several kickass parties. That just makes it all the sadder that he should stoop to this playground shit. I guess that's just some people's preferred mode of discourse.

Oh come on, Scamp is just saying things as he sees them. Stop the incessant whining about an evil man on the internet not putting massive amounts of flowers after every sentence.

Also Leijaa: tell me more about this norwegian party you seem to be involved in?

Also Yet Unknown German Party Organizers: tell me more about this german party you seem to be involved in?

Sure, if people will also stop pretending that Scamp is only defending his interests in the Breakpoint name. He's taking cheap shots at TG/EG too. He's entitled to that opinion, and everyone else is entitled to defend it, be outraged by it, take it as a friendly joke, or whatever else... but don't pretend he isn't saying what he very clearly is saying.

Nico: EasterGarden is a what most people complaining about The Gathering has asked for for years.

A place for demosceners to meet, hang out and drink alcohol etc at the same time as The Gathering is taking place.

The compos will be at The Gathering. The event will be invite only and free for every participant over 18 with a demoscene ticket for The Gathering. It will among others host the Scene.Org Awards Afterparty.
