Varia's first single "Dance Emergency" is out!

category: general [glöplog]
Hi boys and girls!

We've been hard at work getting our first proper release out (especially after the success of Agenda) and here it is finally! We've also got a FANTASTIC video to show off by Destop & Smash (and filmed at Pablo Films) which I imagine will be up on the tubes later today. :)

Please enjoy and share with your friends if you do teh likes, there's a cheezburger in it for you. We've also got a FB if you wanna stalk that.
I suppose I have to say something positive, but it's kinda of hard. I think this stuff is well produced - but I must admit I was expecting something else (i.e. something along the line of Agenda etc.).

Dance Emergency is all over the place for me. It reminds me of a well produced immitation of daft punk. It will be fine for background music while driving.

White Room is plain borring. To me, it doesn't really build up any momentum.

Just Burn is again very daft punkish, however I tend to like this better than Dance Emergency. It's far more coherent that Dance Emergency.

That being said, I totally like the "Agenda Circling Forth" track. It had 10x atmosphere and especially the dolpinish strings and the vocals makes my day.

Thanks for the feedback, Rasmus!
Even though "White Room" doesn't really build or go anywhere, I really like it.

I like it the two disco tracks and would totally enjoy a full length album of that kinda mashed up stuff. PS: i was very confused with the "digital album" thing and was like "uh, where's the rest of the album - three tracks, just a teaser, right?"

Asides, is the track from varia.tv available anywhere?

rp: Not really, the radio is pretty random and the playlist keeps changing weekly. We keep adding new edits and stuff and I think offering them all for d/l is a bit much as there's like 500 Varia songs/edits from the past year alone. :)

The "digital album" bit is from BandCamp, can't really help it.
song. people dancing.

cool. Thanks for sharing. I like the broken disco and funk tracks. White room got old fast.

Nice one. Is the effect in the video realtime?;-)

Though i must say i'm not really that into this cut'n'mix type of daft punk / justice type of stuff.

love the tune. i think the video is very pretty and all, but its lack of speed takes all the energy out of the tune, IMHO. having heard the tune first without the video, i had expected a video, well, more like cassius 1999 and less like a bottle of water in a car..

I wanted to laugh first, but it's actually pretty cool. :D

Dance Emergency is really cool, but sounds "familar" -> TPOLM Lazy Sunday (04-varia_hki.mp3 @ 38:42)

i think Dance Emergency has the energy to burn the dancefloor. really a great production.
i hope you can reach alot of ears with this track.
Thanks for the feedback guys!

The video runs in realtime yes but it also has post processing done to it so it doesn't look 100% the same as the final one.
I'm sad to say I don't like the tracks much. "Dance Emergency" is monotone and not very energetic or fast. "White room" sounded nice but didn't really go anywhere. The other song? Um forgot about it...
