Some of the arguments against IQ tests brought up in this thread are perfectly valid. I know of tests that have questions in which a single answer is accepted as correct, while several other answers would be logical too.

A psychologist should construct a "creativity intelligence" test, IMHO. A test that has more than a single valid solution for each pattern series, but rather asks the testee to propose as many solutions as possible, with an EXPLANATION why each solution would fit. Maybe such a test would measure a talent of value (e.g. in finding explanations for natural phenomena...).

What iq Goes with à photographic memory? ;)

Could you stop picking on poor iq now? I mean, really, he got a job at Pixar and you didn't. I can relate to how jealous this must make you. But this hostility needs to stop now!

Fuck Pixar. The only thing worth striving for in life is a Nobel Prize.

magic: some kind of a very fast memory game i think... but i'd hesitate to call someone with a good photographic memory 'intelligent'...

the point stated in detail here is: most of those tests are just as 'stupid' as their authors were.
so the most promising method would be to find the most intelligent person of all time (given that he has not died yet) and let him compile an IQ test by which all other person's intelligence is then measured. see the obvious problem apart from that dead thing?

"dead thing" should read "death thing"... sorry :/

There are some non-official (not standardized, not "scientifically accepted") IQ tests designed by persons with a supposedly extremely high IQ.

Adok: so you're more interested in politics then? because price-giving, as amongst others most of the demoparties have successfully proven, is more of an ability/namevoting/audience-pleasing mixture than a measure for absolute greatness.

looked at that link and was instantly disgusted with 'mega', 'titan' and 'ultra' test namegiving... ;)

also - of course - they charge you money for getting results on those!
rule: do not take that test, or your IQ is significantly lower than they make you think it is...

hcdlt: I just wanted to say that of course it's something unusual if somebody works at Pixar and I'm happy for him, but that I'm not jealous.

The Titan test is available for free at the provided webpage. It is an education-dependent test, especially the first block requires some knowledge of philosophy and other academic subjects. So it's not a good IQ test, IMHO. But it's what you asked for: a IQ test designed by a person who is very intelligent according to common IQ tests himself.

Adok: Enough with the tests. No matter how "accurate", they prove nothing.

Science and technology has progressed to the point that even the most intelligent person in the world is unable to achieve anything by themselves.

Take a modern desktop CPU as an example. No one single person could possibly design a 64-bit out-of-order multi-core processor all on their own. Such technology is only possible because huge (as in huge) teams of people work together over many (as in many) years.

Face it, medicine, science, technology, et al. require the ability to work well with others, not the ability to tick the correct box on a multiple-choice exam. There's no test to determine how well a person functions in real life, save for real life itself.

Seriously, find a job, move out of your parents' house, and try growing up a little. For fuck sakes man, you're fast approaching 30...
sums it up thom. really good.

well put, thom.
@Adok: print that statement out and put it above your bed so you'll have to look at it first every morning when waking up.

Adok, honestly IQ has been shown to be a flawed test many time - hence most educational institutions place little or no relevance in IQ testing.
Personally if I were you I'd try taking an emotional intelligence test then post your (honest) marks. Then move onto MMPI2 (I wouldn't post those results tho even if you can get hold of them!) ;P

go make an iq test about it

Anyway there is no direct relation between own IQ value and being a demoscener. These are 2 different things.
