so EG is to be understood as a boozembly-like 'side event' with chairs, tables, a roof and stable internet/network?

just because i'm interested, what's the normal count of creative/demoscene tickets sold at TG?

pro: yes - your understanding of EG is correct.

There is no "normal" amount of demoscene tickets sold at TG as this has been going up and down a lot the last 10 years. Last year we sold around 140, this year we are going beyond 200.

Note that the amount of individual contributors in the compos has always been much higher than the number of demoscene tickets sold, as lots of creative people choose to buy regular tickets so the can sit with their not-so-creative friends (with a demoscene ticket you _must_ sit in the demoscene area).

duckers, I was mostly thinking of the difference between a regular creative ticket and the free entrance for scene.org nominees.
But well, if EG is kinda dead most of the time and I can't get power for my laptop in the main hall without a regular ticket I'd just get one..

Psycho: I believe Duckers is underestimating the time people will spend at EG. I think you'll find there will be people there most of the time, with exception of the compos :) (yay for free shuttlebusses btw!)

gloom: Oh yes - there will be people at EG 24/7. Just saying compos, seminars and shows will primarily physically happen in the Vikingship. But it can of course all be enjoyed from EG too: they will have live streams of all major events from from TG (and Revision) on the big screen :)

yay for parties! Real pouet content!
Is there going to be a live stream for us benighted souls who cannot attend?
EG opens at 18.00, but TG much earlier, so is it possible to drop off some stuff on the way around noon wednesday? (Or is the TG security sufficiently relaxed as long as the booze stays in the bag?)

Im not going to TG or EG. Im just curious anyway and wondering if you're going to watch the compos from EG since booze is not allowed in the TG-hall? (for those who are drinking of course). hope you have a great time there all.

Psycho: I can only talk from experience from >10 years ago, but I've never had my bags searched by security at TG. I think bringing alcohol inside the hall is strictly speaking in violation of the rules, but there's probably close to zero percent chance of getting caught ;)

rudi: Duckers just started a couple of posts above that all major events will be streamed to EG.

kusma: oh, now i suddenly want to go. :P any entrance fee for EG? only if i can get a cheap train-ticket.

metoikos: We'll see, we're at least trying to do something for the live shows.

Psycho: I would expect we can work something out. Send me an sms to 41229999, and I'll make sure we can find somehow to stash your stuff.

Rudi/kusma: I've seen bags routinely searched at TG, so don't EXPECT slack security. And really, why would you even want to bring booze into TG? Talk to me, and we'll work it out with regards to dropping stuff at EG. It's, like, EXTREMELY close to the train station anyway.

Smash: I'd say go to TG first, check in, meet people in the lounge and watch compos starting from 20:15. After that it's the free shuttle bus express to EG for all your adult needs (well, some of them at least).

Smash: If you're bringing booze, it may be a good idea to drop it off with us at EG first. EG is just a couple hundred meters from the train station.

And avoiding the luggage when going through the TG registration process is also nice I may add. But It feels a bit lonely here so far ;)

smash: and coming to Revision after?

smash: Dutyfree is guaranteed to be (significantly) cheaper than buying local stuff, and the local liquor sales (except for bars etc) are also closed during your stay. :)
no liquor sales even on the thursday? shit..!

None of the hard stuff available until the 26th, no beer (after 18:00 today) except a couple of hours on saturday. We're pretty underdeveloped in this sense...
hows the bar scene in hamar over easter? :)
