The Japanese are an intelligent and industrious people. I'd love to see more Japanese people here in Vienna. Everybody would benefit from them.
Adok: have you even thought atleast a lil about the japanese cultural background. Mosdef nobody of them regular people (not business guys) there would take that cultural shock out of that dilemma and come to austria to work together with that guys like you. And I'm not even talking about that obvious language barrier.

Most of the asylum seekers to Aust. shores are not poor, it costs thousands (x10 for families) of USD to get here from most 3rd world countries. The money mostly goes to people smugglers in Indonesia who have connections in Oz. The "refugees" get stuffed into a leaky boat with no food or water then cast adrift hopefully heading for Oz. 99.99% of them get caught by either the RAN or the coastguard.
Then they get sent to prison. Separated from their families/children/spouses. Housed indefinitely in fairly spartan (to you or I) conditions.
Not @ all but if you were in the really unfortunate position of being an international refugee - be it from political unrest, religious intolerance or even natural disasters, would you like to be imprisoned indefinitely & separated from your family upon entering a new & hopefully compassionate country? (Let's be honest - driving across a border in a truck is a shit load easier than drifting for several days in the open ocean with no food or drink now is it?).

tbh, i do not understand what you're talking about. here's an analogy: the door of my personal home is not open to homeless bums nor is my home a safe house for women being beaten by their husbands. there are many missfortunae people in this world but it is not my obligation to offer them shelter. even if i wanted to, their is not enough food in my fridge to feed them all.
many years ago, Europeans were in the exact same position as people from 3rd world countries. we were oppressed under feudal system, savery in all but name, common to all of Europe. those were the days of unrest, rebellions, uprisings, bloodshed,political demonstrations and foundations. from that came a certain quality of life for regular people of Europe...it was not offered on a plate, it was fought for over generaions (even if few remember the struggles today)
you stay in your home and you make the changes you deserve happen. you do not run from the stink like a weasel and destroy the standards others have fought hard to establish in their own home. (re: access to housing, working-wage, school places, public health care)
