REVISION 2011

category: parties [glöplog]
yeah, a big thumb up and thank you for the orga team for providing a great party experience.
also really nice location with all needed facilities and properties for a really good demoparty.

and just for the record some minor improvement ideas which you probably already heared or considered yourself:

- coffee/food quality
- some kind of outdoor video/audio system, especially since the outdoor area is pretty huge

@glxblt: You forgot "those 2 fuckers again" on the bus to complete your list.
Ah, btw, congrats on your win!
this was one of the best easter parties i've ever been to! :)

some of my +- thingies:

+ lots of space on the parking lot
+ huge entrance area
+ 2nd bigscreen
+ tables
+ chairs
+ awesome room between tables
+ network
+ bigscreen
+ lovely organizers, always helpful and friendly
+ live acts
+ earplugs!
+ sleeping area
+ clean and lots of toilets
+ overall and general good feeling
+ only a few delays, plus: early price giving on time (! yay for people who have to get their train/plane and booked in advance according to the timetable !)
+ huge outdoor area
+ Mittwoch

- PA. i think the sound system was good, it was just that relatively low placement of the speakers paired with the stairs in front of the bigscreen (with people on it) somehow killed the audio quality in the first 5-6 rows.
- I liked the size of the outdoor area, it is just that the food stands somehow formed one circle, and the bonfire was just too far away to create a real connection between both.
- We definitely need a solution for the coffee problem
- An outdoor screen would be nice, yes. Or at least some kind of information about the next compos/announcements, because you could only barely hear what was going on inside.

but in the end: here is my <3 for you: !<3! :)

ah, yep, there is only one sad thing: we have to wait one year for REVISION2012! :)

yes, I missed the web browser demo, because I didn't hear the starting jingle...

and imagine the same place with more than 1000 ppl? Would that work?

How many attended? 500 sceners were on www.party?

Thx to all and especially the awesome organizers for an amazing party!
It was the best and coolest party-hall ever!

However, I do have to second the poor coffee situation..

And also dont be so organized that you actually make the prizegiving on time! i totally missed it :(

i agree for the "café"
All the coffee complainers should've been less lazy and hop over to Starbucks. It was nearby and had more than enough decent coffee.

Sceners are like Chuck Norris. We don't travel for coffee - it travels for sceners ... ;)

Well apparently it didn't travel enough :-)

We're ninjas too - it didn't notice us (as probably the rest of Saarbrücken did) :D

Now that there's a link to the revision-jingle here on pouet, I just realised some similarities between the jingle and a demosound i did 7 years ago.
But listen for yourself: scythoior.com/jingle.mp3

Explanation:
My version had to be downsampled 3 halftones and sped up a bit, hence the bad quality.
First comes my intro followed by that of vincenzo, than my main part followed by that of vincenco ;-)

You wouldn't probably hear those similarities in the untouched original which you can listen to here: scythoior.com/squoquobuenzli.ogg - the demo "Taube Nuss" from Squoquo where the soundtrack was used can be downloaded from scene.org.

PS: No offense of plagiarism or so, I'm shure Vincenzo doesn't even know about my sound ;-) Just funny how demosceners often tick along soundwise ;-)

Big thanks to Styx and all the other organizers. I never had such a great and relaxed time at a party before. Excellent location. Keep using it! I will be back next year and bring a release (hopefully).

Some suggestions, though
- get something like this
- make a (light) show for the toilet tunnel
- announce the seminars

coup de coeur to all who made this happen!

Yepp, the revision rocked. But some sentences may follow:

- there was nearly no ftp/network/leech
- the entry-upload system should be stable after 11 years
- there was no porn
- there were far to less real computers, and who let all the appleusers out? Make
a demo for it or get lost...
- no fluffy carpet
- sleeping hall behind the boxes?
- 5 Minutes to get to the toilett
- no KB liveact
- okkie loves his own voice too much, I demand steeler back! ;)
- loud revisioncrowd in the back (upstairs) while seminars
- bonefire tooooo far away from the rest

Don't get me wrong, the rest was awesome like the soft chairs, the hall, the great screen and of course the ruling staff. None of the mentioned points above are even getting close to the fact that the event rocked. All the working things, we saw them. Be sure. I LOVE YOU!

pixtur: you have coined the phrase 'toilet tunnel'

awesome!

obligatory tunnel.
...and only the cool kids were celebrating a spontaneous tunnel party with the boom box b/c underground parties are supposed to be under ground *rahaha*

next year the disco-ball is mandatory

Very excellent party indeed! I'll probably come back next year.

I'll give my constructive critizism here:

+ no idiot tickets needed when returning bottles. Yeah!
+ better food than in Breakpoint (I guess it's ok to compare since both had very similar food stands)
+ atmosphere

- no cocktail bar. I liked that from Bp A LOT.
- too few night shuttles. I'm a sleepy lamer already at 1 am and would've liked a 01:00 night shuttle
- way too few information about the intranet problems to people drinking outside. production submission was a pain in the arse process
- wlan was not reachable outside. The real party is outside and so should the WLAN be
- no outside toilets. Fuck that shit!
- overlapping with Eastergarden

I had no problem connecting to the WLAN as far as for the fire place.

the toilet tunnel sadly featured a slightly slippy set of stairs at times. :)

other than that - revision was a fucking amazing event to attend, i'm glad i made it after all.
the location kicks ass in terms of size, both in- and outside.

pan^H^H^Hhats off to the organizing team!

It was a very good party. Thanks to all organizers.

I'd also want to post some criticism:

- The stairs in front of the bigscreen seemed contraproductive to me:
Less comfortable, space for less people and is blocking the line of sight (and line of sound) of the people sitting behind.
- "toilet tunnel" was really annoying. It seemed there was some other way (from the vip area?) to the toilets, so the organizer should think about opening this area to all visitors to be able to go to the toilets more quickly.
- There should definitely be a bigscreen, WLAN and some speakers in the outdoor area.
- In constrast to other posts here I did not like the food concept. The turkish family stand seemed overstrained to me. And it was pretty expensive. 4 Euros for a vegetarian döner which contained only some cheese and cabbage (no tomatos and other stuff) is pretty much.
The crêpes stand also had been "strange" (the egg dough should definitly be in the fridge than in the sun, especially on such warm days...)
- It's not the best experience when the dnb beats from behind are louder than the PA of the compo.
- Internet could be more stable
