Awesome stream, thanks so much -- we're watching at my not-going-to-Buenzli party. Have a great time all!

ok thank
So, I'm back after visiting Bünzli for the second time (my first was 2010). First of all, congrats on pulling off a party for the 20th time — I have a certain idea how much work it is getting even the “obvious” stuff right, and most of it was pretty smooth. I can't really say I had the one-scene-family feeling I've had at other parties, but I guess that's directly related to how many people you do or do not know. I think the new location was a pretty nice step-up from last year; nice atmosphere and an adequate amount of room. (The sofas were a very nice touch, and so was actually angling all of the seats toward the big screen. I remember being puzzled at how few people actually watched the compos last year, and that was better this time around.)

Now for a few personal opinions on what I _didn't_ like :-) First of all, I'm not sure if you really need to tape over the windows; by the time of the demoshowings it will be more than dark enough. Combined with the fact that there seems to be “automated entertainment” on the bigscreen _all_ the time, it doesn't really invite into speaking with random new people; there's never a pause.

I'd be happy if you could actually just cut down on the number of demoshows, and reducing the number of obscure entries (who decided “best since last Bünzli” should include only one 4k and not a single ASD entry, but _two_ Amiga entries, the Revision invite and some obscure invite for a Japanese party?) — I was with some people who never had heard of the demoscene before (they were at the party by coincidence), and it was honestly a bit hard to explain to them what the thing was given what was shown on the bigscreen. :-) On the other hand, the fun compo was a nice touch, pulling the theme all the way from the invite and into the party, and it wasn't overdone (twice is enough :-) ).

The voting system was, to be honest, pretty confusing. Especially announcing it _after_ the first compo, essentially expecting us to remember eight (?) entries individually along multiple axes… if you had opened the voting during the compos, it might have been possible to just assign stars as you went, but as-is I just skipped voting in several compos because it was too much of a hassle to try to remember everything.

And finally, I know this is really, really hard, but I'd loved a somewhat tighter compo organizing; there were three main blocks of compo showings, and most of them were approaching 50% “air” — random waiting for no apparent reason (especially between the compos, but also between individual entries), which reduced the enjoyment a bit. I can understand this for realtime compos, but for the compos that essentially consist of just playing videos, it's a bit odd. But again, I know this is hard, especially with tons of different compos and a pretty nice turnout.

But: Again, good work. Here's to many more decades for us to feel this demoscene frenzy :-)

Thanks Gargaj, that was extremely fast. Unfortunately the nonrealtime entries seem to be incomplete. Both videos are only 3.5 MB large, which is way less than they should be. Maybe someone can reupload them?

And thanks to viprinet for making the stream possible!

Excellent demoparty! And it was actually my first party abroad I have to add... Loved the location, loved the demoshows (contrary to Sesse, I think the amount was perfect), loved the people, loved everything. The only thing that was IMHO not perfect was the monitor speakers on stage that weren't even needed for the party as far as I can tell. You probably didn't put them there, but encouraging people to enjoy graphics compos on the sofas where great percentages of the lower half of the screen are hidden behind two speakers on stage is a bit weird... :)
Apart from that: PERFECT!

As usual, a very nice and well executed party from our swiss friends. The new location is not as pretty and neat as the Kirchgemeindehaus but in many ways more awesome.

Good:
- Parking spaces in front of the hall
- Shopping malls nearby
- Great variety of food and drinks at the bar (attentive staff, too)
- Fantastic atmosphere
- Nice little outdoor area
- Good collection of demoshows

Bad:
- Too much noise during the night. It's not a good idea to play music through the entire night, especially when sleeping possibilities include "in front and back of the stage" ;-). Also, on the second night, some organizers (who shall remain nameless) cranked up the PA with happy-hardcore at around 5.30. In my opinion, this is a very unprofessional behavior.

Please improve next year:
- There have been some technical difficulties with the video-equipment when switching between video modes
- Somebody up in the gallery should have a microphone to make small announcements, especially when there are technical problems.
- The sound was not ideally balanced during competitions.
- Punch me to bring a feature-complete and bug-free version of Partymeister2 ;) (Thanks again for letting me beta-test during demodays).
