Ticket paid! Time to buckle down and crunch out a half-assed demo.

datsua: just my thought! I might squeeze out an assed entry also... dunno what; it might be, some audio or shit - it's kinda føcked that KG is so close to TRSAC really...............

But; Hey! I never GO to a PARTY without a(crappy) release, right ...
(I rather stay home than go to a party without a contribution, but that is probably just me)

While people should still visit parties even though they don't "come packin' heat", I really wish that more people would put a bit of an effort into actually making something. Especially for smaller parties like KG and Solskogen where there really is only a matter of just two good demos to make the componight really shine. That's not too much to ask, is it?

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go back to work. At some point on the saturday morning of KG I'm sure Kusma will call me and ask if we should do something. Do as I say, not as I do ;)

not yet sure if i'll make it to the party but i'll make a prod for sure!

Its the same date as GREP, and i will support the swedish party this time :p
gloom: it seems the problem really is that you don't enjoy the demos you don't feel shine then. And not that people don't make stuff...

Gloom: Well put. I also think people should come both nights, and bring their wives :)

nosfe: Don't really think anyone can fault you for not bringing prods to every single party you attend - and quite a few you don't. :) Sure hope you can make it over!

menace, i really hope so too. but even if i don't make it, my minions will deliver the prod for the compos. ;)

proteque: Rubbish. This is not a "what demos does Gloom like"-thing at all. Everyone knows what I'm talking about -- all parties have this: the demo(s) that people scream "FUCK YEAH!" at when watching. It's not about style or preference, it's about impact. You can have a perfectly _good_ componight with three or four demos, two of which are beginner demos with lots of effort but not a lot of polish and two of higher quality but lower intensity. There is nothing wrong with that, but my comment was towards having that "YEAH!"-feeling that leaves everyone excited into the early hours of the morning.

What Gloom said. My favourite componight of all times at Kindergarden is the 2007 democompo, and I don't even like the style of those demos..

to clarify a bit :)

My comment was not meant like "if you don't make anything, dont come".
It was more like my personal opinion about myself....

I just can't stand being at at party without a contribution - but it's ofcourse great that other people don't think like I do - or else there would'nt be that many people partying, right? :P

i have an opinion of my own!
I agree and understand Response wholeheartedly. I'm attending parties for two reasons: entering a compo AND getting shitfaced.

Me, I don't even like demos. Now go play a game about it.

my only reason to attend kindergarden is the pancakes \o/

The reason I don't go to demoparties is that I never feel like I have anything worth releasing. Of course, there's a logical solution to that: just release shit!

.. what? What?!

(I'm sworn to remote-enter at least one compo in the next 2ish months... time to break the habit)

my only reason to attend kindergarden is to release another SPYKLADD.

I always try to deliver something, just to participate. 9 out of 10 times is some shit from the archives. It's fun though, delivering something unexpected.

I only attend parties to booze. If I end up nagging gloom to make a demo at the Saturday, that's only because it's the only way to keep my bottle of Ratzeputz for myself...
added on the 2011-10-29 03:11:28 by kusma kusma
I attend parties only to sleep on Kusmas lap.

gloom: my point was that first you ask people to try to make an effort to make demos for small parties and then you talk about it like its the really about the quality and those wow factors. First off. people DO make an effort to make demos to the smaller parties. Or was the the first part of it really aimed at the big groupnames? Not all of us are Fairlight. And most of us never will be. But there are quite a lot of effort in demoshows. Even on smaller parties.
