wanted: 3d engine for a demo

category: offtopic [glöplog]
hey, anyone who's written a 3d engine supporting the new lightwave 6.5b, say hell yeah! and if you are interested in lending it for me to contribute on a demoparty or doing some co-operative action, say hell yeah!

got some 3d stuff.. so get in touch with me if you want to lend/hire it for some definitive 3d action demo..

features wanted: morph, textures+reflectionmap, displacement map, scripting, lights and stuff, fake shadows and shit and the possibility of using multiple scenes at one time.

features preferred, not necessary: cartoon shading, zillion layers of textures overlapping thanks, bones support etc.. ANTI-ALIAS & DOF.

Must work on windows nt & open gl stuff.

Guess you are looking for a lw6 scene replayer. 'hope such a thing with so many features exists :)
"light & stuff", u mean enveloppe, distant, spot, arealight, lightmaps etc ?

I think MGD developped such an engine. Ask'em for.

good luck pal

derpiipo: if you are a good modeller contact us at lator@dxmachina.yi.org and send some stuff and so on.. we're looking for talented modelers in max/lightwave .. engine is made after graphician / designers notepad :)
(altough .. lightwave + 3dsmax engines allready exists a couple ;)

The fact that Lator is completely ignorant about who Der Piipo is says enough, I think.

Anyway, my engine's d3d anyway, not OpenGL :)

hums.. so what does he says ? ;)

i dont care.. iam in desperat need for a 3dgraphician.. =)
and 3dengine is never a problem as long as someone can make 3d ;D

lator: go download some stuff from Orange, you probably missed some truly Respectable prods... good luck in your search, anyway (:
wow, lator just climed one more step upwards on the "i-am-lame"-ladder.

anyways, bypass needs 3d-graphicians. contacts can be made.

climed=climbed
no but honestly.. its kinda fun...
how many groups that acctually makes something today have good 3dmodellers (not talking about guys that can make primitives in max;) .. i believe the entire scene needs more modellers and good graphicians.. there seems to be alot more coders/musician around than good graphicians.. or maybee theyre just to lazy ?;)

musicians? where? we're always in need of one or two :)

Maybe it's a question of position. From mine i see lots of graphicians with ideas in need for efficient coders ...

I suppose everybody's trying to put the fault on others :)

i can generate infintly many cubes/spheres/torids/knots so ask me! ;-)
well, i'm not into joining any group, but i'd like to do some co-operation with a programmer who's got a 3D engine supporting lw6.5 and its features.. i mean the basic realtime 3d stuff.. and UV mapping, etc.. and preferrably faked shadows and morphing..thanks

ok i'll probably get flamed for this but i just want to say
that the blender realtime 3d engine and webplugin is fun.

:)

derpiipo: actually you're talking about what features my engine will have soon...or not so soon, depends how lazy I am =)))
only problem: my engine uses 3ds and not lightwave.

Really odd to support all the features of lightwave files and then only read 3DStudio files don't you think?
huh, what ? those features aren't actually only available in lightwave.

I think most 3d-players support only 3ds or own format(which is usually exported from 3dsmax) and there aren't too many groups with ALL those features in their engine.

we ( cocoon ) have all that in our 3d engine ...
It s using max 4 but it can be easyly converted ... mail me

hehe. I'm still waiting a 3DSMax-based engine being able to load lws/lwo files with a minimum support of basics lw features ... or even a lw-plugin exporting scenes toward a specific file format :D

that would be great, 3ds & lw friends for ever, demos playing both 3dsmax & lw scenes, and so on ...

what a daydream :D

mééééé euuh
just imagine a team of graphists, able to work on the same demo, whatever the soft they wanna use... mixing 3d files like they use to exchange psd or tga ...

the truth is : using lw for years make me feel lonely, since lw realtime engines are not so common :)
