Sunspire: What? Of course it's good news, since Star Wars is maybe now in better hands. Since when did George Lucas do anything good with Star Wars? Disney on the other hand did okay things with its licenses until now. So I am leaning back and see what comes there. After Episodes I - III it can't get that much worse, actually.

At least we'll get to see Yoda and Mickey in the same mobile phone adverts now.

"In 2015, we're planning to release Star Wars Episode 7 – the first feature film under the "Disney-Lucasfilm" brand. That will be followed by Episodes 8 and 9 – and our long term plan is to release a new Star Wars feature film every two to three years"

what is so great about star wars?
"Worrying that Disney will ruin Star Wars is like worrying that a second iceberg will dive down to hit the Titanic. "

@Lord Graga
Nothing. I'm my opinion Star Wars sucked big time. It was too cute so Disney and Star Wars was made for each other.
Huge fan of Blade Runner and Mad Max. Hopefully they wont be approached by Disney anytime soon.

Good call Nosfe, made me laugh, but never rule out the diving icebergs!

"An animated Ewoks series, with JarJar Binks would be the best place to go from here. Mwhaha! Did I really laugh out evilly just then? Sorry, bad habit of mine," said the Disney director.

"Star Trek - Beating a dead horse since 1966. Again. And again. And again." ;)

Before thumbing it down, I want to see the first movie under Disney. And I am interested in what George Lucas is going to do with the money - in what projects he is going to invest it.

The ambient of the new trilogy is kinda good, but the old trilogy sucks. It's a good example of the beginning of the hollywoodian bullshit.

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy
Two film titles -
Raiders of The Lost Ark (and what Lucas helped Spielberg fuck up with all the digital "restorations" and what not).
Tron Legacy.

One got royally screwed over by the makers just to make some extra bucks a few years after the original was released. The other was an excellent remake/sequel made by the people who brought you Bambi.

I'm with Salinga.

Disney made a pretty good job with Marvels Avengers, and frankly the less George has to do with star wars the better. I only wish episode 1-2-3 could be undone.

What I found especially impressive with this thread is that "Lucasfilm" is referred to as "Star Wars company".
