demoparty.net - on ignore list?

category: parties [glöplog]

is there any reason that www.demoparty.net is being ignored by some of the organisers?

e.g. from what I see now, there is at least few parties already missing that are mentioned on the revision:
1. Function
2. Chaos Constructions
3. DemoJS

the latter two even released their invitation intro/demo. yet, it was too much to put their parties on the demoparty list?

also, missing parties that I'm aware, prior to the Revision:
4. Arok (also have a invitation intro done)
5. Assembly Summer (date is acknowledged on the end of the assembly winter)
6. ReSeT
...and there are probably at least 2x more that I'm not aware of!!

I really love that site (even that I'm using it maybe 10 times a year), just because I can organize myself and took a day off from office when needed. (not to mention reserve the air ticker and/or hotels when needed, which are always much cheaper when booked in advance).

so, what am I missing here? is there new website that took over that function (not counting the pouet's bbs)?

Function hasn't been announced yet.

I guess the organisers of the parties you mentioned simply haven't bothered to add their parties yet. I've filled out the form a handfull of times now and it never took more than a few days for the party to be added after that.

@gargaj, I saw it on the "grafitti" wall on revision, and also during the interview while waiting for the opening.

there is no backing out now! :))

ReSeT has no date planned for this year, as far as I know ? Or are there some fresher news ?
@gargaj, hehehe. and you probably thought that what happens at revision stays at revision ;))

@wullon, thanks! btw, there is a minor possibility that I'll drop by. can't promise anything, yet.

@PulkoMandy, since ReSeT should happen in about two and half months, it would be the nice to have the date. shouldn't we supposed to have 30y md parts finished (and reviewed) at the party? is it time that we put some pressure on the Eliot?

I still think that demoparty.net is the most official demoparty listing website out there. It's true that not all parties are listed there but at least major ones tend to appear month or two before the actual party.

So demoparty.net is a great tool:
* To see what demoparties are out there
* For party organizers to avoid overlapping dates
* To actually have some list where I can see what parties I have visited over the years :-)

As a party organizer I would like to see some "tentative" or "unofficial" date setting also in the site because then there would be even greater visibility when trying to find non-overlapping dates for scene related events.

@poti, good to know, yet you never know their reasons for not putting it up there. only if it's really close (e.g. within next 30 days), invitation intro/demo released and website is up, I'll submit it myself.

also, kudos to ellvis that just submitted the first party in 2014.!!!!
that's what I call the planning ahead!!!

http://reset.pushnpop.net/index.php
(submitted to demoparty.net, should be added soon)

See you there !
SORRY!!! i didn't ignore it, i just forgot :)

The "Upcoming parties" list does not show the next 10 upcoming parties - e.g. after "ReSeT #10" it shows "Solskogen 2013" but there are 3 parties inbetween according to the RSS. Is that intended?

kabuto: the last 2 parties are always the "popular" ones i.e. the ones where a lot of people signed up.

Just took a look at demoparty.net. Wow. And a big "lol" to anyone who declared the scene to be dead.
