Ever since I first heard Holding on for Life by Broken Bells, I have that feeling that I recognise that bass line (duh-duh ... duh-duh starting at 0:12 in that video) before and I'm growing more and more frustrated that I can't figure out where I heard it before!

I have a vague feeling I heard that bass line in a 90s-ish Amiga demo. Or maybe its just the first "duh-duh" that resembles a sample from some demo music?

Help me please! I'm slowly going mad.

That's almost the most basic bassline possible. You've probably heard it everywhere.

Yeah I think it's too generic to pin it down. Then again maybe that's the reason you're going mad.

You are aware that a(our) group has the same name(Darklite) and that there is already a scener named Darklight?

Demoscene is about creativity - perhaps you should be a bit more creative when selecting a nick?

...and since Darklite the group are big on building their own demo machines, surely it would be straightforward to create a new platform known as the 'Darklite' just for this one release.
