NVScene 2014

category: parties [glöplog]
I do love how fast you made the seminars available.
On the other hand you just filmed it with a constant camera and this way watching seminars makes no sense, not having the screen-capture mixed inbetween -> i cant even read a single instruction in shadertoy f.e. @IQs seminar! ;)
So Q: will there be enhanced versions of the seminars at some point of time?
hArDy: Trouble is, that requires a *lot* more time, equipment, and manpower. If you're volunteering...

Yep, i knew this would be the answer, just hoped someone would be up for the job, as the demoscene is about doing stuff for free at all anyway!
About me volunteering: i do not have any skills towards Video-Editing, else i´d be up for that for sure!
Maybe, hopefully, someone reads this and volunteers! ;) Just be sure to keep the raw material, so you can provide it to whomever is up to it! ;)
I´d like to send fuckings to everyone having received a Shield and not having delivered a demo to NVScene 2014!
I would do that in a RTRT-Scroller if the technology would be available yet! ;)
-> Fuckings to Lord Helmet
-> RTRT on Mobiles
Best Greetingz-Part() ever! ♥
presented to you at NVScene 2014!
this was one badass demo competition.

Unless I'm mistaken, Shields were given out at the party place, so it's kinda hard to code a demo for it in one day...

That was a very good PC demo compo btw

Loopit wins "best greetings part ever" IMHO :)

Such an enjoyable compo - good crowd in the enormous room, awesome ambience - loved it!

hardy/tomoya: that's correct - we seeded a few Shields in advance to people who said they wanted to make something for the device.

Fair enough. Thanks for letting me know :)

Maybe people did not have enough time to finish/polish their Shield demos for NVScene 2014? Most people will prefer not to release until it's ready, I guess.

Sincerely, I am under the impression that we will see a few cool Shield powered demos this year yet. I know about at least one.

By the way, the Shield is simply AWESOME.

Very interesting demos. Awesome Northern Dragons demo. Great entry by Satori. Also Min demo was very cool. And that demo called "Secret Rooms" was just mindblowing.

All demos were different compared to what we normally get these days! Which is very good ofcourse! But somehow i missed some killerEntry like Stargazer this time! Eventho the superb Greetingz-part in the last demo was somewhat killer for sure! :D
No. I don't think so. See Starstruck for an example of real killer greetings. :]

Ahh... I hope you all had (have?) a great time. Sad not to be there - maybe in 6 years again ? :-)

I'd call it a respectable compo. It was a far cry from what was presented in 2008 though. Maybe NV didn't push as hard this time. :)

Would some of those who were there care to share some of their overall impressions of the party? We have the compos and seminars on the stream, but what about the atmosphere? Was it all businesslike with carafes of water on the tables or fucked up as usual with spilled beer and passed-out danes? Just curious about the party feel.
