"Player_x64.exe has stopped working"

Want me to send any logs?

If there are any, yes please. Does it even get to modeswitch / loadingbar or is it boom kaputt?

No log file or error messages here. Just a clean exit, or so it seems.

@tomaes: can you try

http://root.okkernoot.net/~nj/__dev/Player_x64.exe ? It should give an amount of numbered messageboxes so I can pinpoint the point of FAIL.

Or perhaps if you're so kind let me know how I can reach you in a more subtle way ;)

Well, I'm not getting any logs, just expected you to post a debug version that creates one :D

This .exe is windowed and posts a few message boxes so I at least have a hunch what happens - it should report something as I have proper error handling so something odd is up anyway.

Maybe, *maybe*, it's AVX. Do you guys have a CPU that supports the AVX instruction set?
added on the 2014-12-05 23:27:27 by superplek superplek
(I check for that but as I also generate code for it there are probably a bunch of AVX instructions thrown before I even arrive on top of main)

No messages whatsoever. It's an i3, but I need to check for AVX.

(ok, it might be AVX. Especially, if it's not in the party version. :P)

Core 2 Duo E8400 here, can't see AVX mentioned in CPU-Z! Also, remember that the original version worked here!

The .exe you just posted doesn't give me anything, only the same windows error :)

Oh, now it launches! And keeps generating the numbers you're talking about :)

So it was AVX.

*slaps self*

Thanks guys, I'll get the fixed-fix up.

Thanks!

While we're at this, do you want me to upload that as "final" to scene.org?
added on the 2014-12-05 23:48:59 by Tomoya Tomoya
That would be great. I won't be updating anymore (this was just some tech. fixes, no content) anyway.

Pasted the wrong link for disk 2 of this.

It should be these two:
