baudsurfer: what did you do for RSI before 2013 btw?
Tron Swanson, please stop sounding retarded.

It's a completely legit question to ask someone who claims to be a founding member of RSI but who has apparently never released anything under their name in the 80s or 90s.
that was my retarded point exactly.

Thanks to all the sceners in this thread who already congratulated RSI for its 30th Anniversary.
The Guestbook section of the group will soon be updated with your kind celebration greetings for we are quite busy at the moment preparing some releases. It is really appreciated.

To the agitated few but loud TOY DJs sheriffs who escaped oneliner activity : RSI is celebrating its 30th Anniversary in the scene in general, not specifically in the demoscene. Did you ever think that 30 years ago the star activity in a group was that of a BBS Sysop ? Here is some phylosophical reading for you If a tree falls in a forest which discusses subject "Can something exist without being perceived?". I can offer you a beer and explain that period to you but in general I find it ironic 30 years ago we were hiding from busts and now we would have to furnish whatever proof on some web boards to some random teenagers.
Somehow this kind of sounds like the first guy who sold t-shirts for Led Zeppelin would start using the band name for his own projects :)

Nothing wrong with old names living on through new members by itself. For another musical comparison, Napalm Death didn't have any original members left in 1988 and few seem to complain.

However, there is a difference between new blood trying to do something worthwhile to keep the old legacy alive, and opportunist hacks trying to cheat their way into prestige.

jobe: unless Napalm Death started to do avantgarde Milwaukeean humpajazz. ;)
People still listen to Napalm Death?

dont gimme the rzr or flt crap. the currently 'active' ones weren't active there 30 years ago. that's just label-refurbishing by people who think ppl actually fucking care (apart from themselves). (and been there, done that when i thought that would matter :P)

been there, done that, sucked, got booted out? :)

Dear Baudsurfer. I have no intention at all to lead a personal crusade against you. Your remarkable sizecoding has without doubt secured you a lasting place place in scene history. And this is the reason why I wonder even more why you need to hold up this story that is incredible to say the least. I am simply wondering about why you did not bring up any sensible argument against what reed has brought forward, that's all. You are not denying that you were KOZMIK in the 2000s (and it would be quite impossible to deny). Then why in the whole course of your NE career you never ever raised the issue of your RSI past - not even in the interview you gave?

I have no idea what "scene politics" are. But I know what scene history is, and I don't like people tampering with it. Again, this is nothing personal. As an activist in several scene history preservation projects, I just want clarity - and I got none from you yet, neither here nor in your bellicose posts over at Demozoo. This is why the whole Demozoo staff cannot accept your tampering with the database.

Also, I am really curious: why are you celebrating RSI's 30th anniversary all alone? I know that you blatantly ignore Irata and his authority, but where is Bill Best, where is Greg? Have the original Canadian members all died? Or did they lose interest in the scene? I'm sorry to destroy your illusions (and probably hopes) in that regard, but I know for a fact that they are alive and around, and that they follow this issue with bewilderment, to say the least (and don't even think of creating sock puppets in their name at Pouet or anywhere else).

Once again, I am not the least interested in any personal war, I just utter the questions that are not just on my mind.
