In all seriousness though. Looking forwards to the site going live around the end of the month, and hopefully the list of seminars will be up at the same time.

Most of all i want the seminars to watch live & offline later as there always a few very interesting oncem they can spark ideas/inspire, and always very high quality at Revision :)

Finally! Our website is online!

So, go on and register for the party in case you haven't done that already.

Also - this is our most complete website launch so far! Crazy ;)

Competition rules are online

Hotel reservation system is available (thanks to the tourism office of Saarbrücken)

Airport shuttle registration is open

And last but not least you can now prepay your tickets already. As last year this service is provided by our friends from deinetickets.de. As last year, we have a multitude of different tickets available. Check our your options here.

There’s a small »problem« with the hotel booking forms. The party is from 3rd to 6th of april.

On this page is written:
»Please note, that the listed prices just apply for a stay between 02.04. and 07.04.«

On the next page is says:
»Please note, that the listed prices just apply for a stay between 3 April and 6 April.«

And in the form for the dates below Arrival is preselected to 02.04.

The deals always seem so late in getting going after the website launch, this year being the exception it seems, that I book my own before. Thursdays FTW. :)
I gonna be there for the first time \o/

Btw: If there is serious need for a live DJ Set of classic oldskool Amiga Demoscene Music on Friday or Saturday, let me know. DJ Arvy would stand "Gewehr bei Fuß" :D

Not sure if it's the right place for this question, and sorry if it isn't - but - is there a possibility that Revision (and probably other parties) would allow modern mobile stuff in PC compos? Android/IOS ARE actual modern PC platforms much more than Linux, so what's the matter?

I mean, for many people including us it could be more challenging to invest in and deliver a mobile platform prod competing with mainstream, than delivering a mac demo/intro for example. Am i the only one thinking so?

@ton: You don't want to compete in the wild-category I assume?
I mean one doesn't run Android/IOS on a pc, unblike Linux.
If everything containing a mircoprocessors gets included in the pc compo, all compos could be merged into that one.

Well, I mean, PC means PERSONAL COMPUTER. Which is a portable device running android/ios these days. And probably such platforms, running the largest personal software market, deserve being in main PC category? So you could compete with big guys, not with an oscilloscope displaying polygons or flashing led cube or whatever.

There have been Android games submitted in past years, though it's about the same boat as the wild category: your competitors could be anything from a Wii, to a PC game, something on an oldschool platform, etc.

Probably as soon as people will actually be able to install and watch the demos on their devices without resorting to jailbreaking or other modifications.

And how would that get shown on the big screen? a feed from an HDD camera? submitted captures from an emulator? not all those devices have HDMI output, and not all can run at the refresh rates dictated by the beamer operators.

I think the the 'class' of GPU on those platforms dictates they should be separate from PC desktops. Advertise as a mobile/GPU/SOC category. If there is not sufficient volume to run as a comp then merge it into wild.

Well, PC does mean "personal computer" and most people use their phone/tablet/phablet more than their laptops and who in 2015 still has a desktop?
added on the 2015-01-27 10:46:20 by okkie okkie
I don't use either of those as a computer (I use the phone as a phone/sms machine occasionally). I hate touch screens, so tablets aren't for me. I am planning to buy a new desktop machine in 2015 or 16 though. I also have several Amigas and C64's, which oughtta count as desktop machines? Don't you, Okkie? :)
