It's your misbelief only (even if it is common)

Then please enlighten to us how it really works. Hint: There is no command.com in WinXP. XP has a console (cmd.exe), which has nothing to do with MS-DOS apart from being a superset of its commands, and in this console you may launch DOS applications by means of an emulator / virtual machine called NTVDM. Which is not MS-DOS. And cmd.exe doesn't have anything to do with running your code since it's really just the console interpreter.
"superset" ;)

505: I am happy to report we found the stolen table a few hours later, it was undamaged but cleverly hidden under a bunch of completely empty chafing dishes :)
Saga Musix: Seems you drew a short straw in terms of shower temperatures indeed. The owner was around all the time mending and fixing things, he fixed the third fridge during the event for example, and he is aware that the water capacity is not optimal. Realistically I think we should expect step by step improvements, or keep our fingers crossed that the weather is extremely hot next year- those cold showers will be a treat when it's 30 degrees ;)
T$: Placing those chafing dishes outside is supposed to be possible but in my experience there's almost always trouble with the heaters if you do it- so I like your idea for the charming aspect but I really hate cold food. So hmm ;) The amount of chairs and couches inside the venue was counted to be enough for upto 130 visitors, but I think a more realistic limit is 120. We got permission to make a fire on the last day of the event, sadly that meant we lacked the time to purchase firewood but we're definitely planning to get some before Ascension weekend in 2016 :)
Baudsurfer, HellMood: It is thanks to gladiators such as the both of you that our visitors and leeches get to enjoy the best 128b democompo on planet Earth. As organizers we owe it to our audience to cooperate with you to optimize that experience, and to promote frank discussion about compo rules and party practices so we can achieve a level playing field. However, let's not forget that this is not a professional for-money sports competition, but rather a hobby we'd like to invite others to join in on so to improve the experience for all involved. It would be a shame if our different points of view on the implementation level overshadow that greater goal we share, and after private discussions in Willemsoord with Baudsurfer and online with HellMood I shall be looking forward to the 2016 Outline 128b compo with great optimism :)

a bit late, but nevertheless: this was a really lovely party experience. i've been to every outline since 2006 (missed only one inbetween, i think), and i was everything else but disappointed this time. definitely going to come next year.

only a few very light points of critique, which do not belittle the overall awesome party experience:

- the air flow in the sleeping halls (at least the lower left one, where i have been) was extremely bad, far worse than in the previous locations. after already one night, the air was like in an animal cage, almost unbearable. my suggestion: coordinated ventilation during the day (all windows and doors open, perhaps putting up a large fan in there too).
- it would be great if it could be made part of the infodesk duties to go and check out the condition of the toilets a few times a day, particularly in the evening hours. this is how we do it at evoke, and it more or less helps (of course not always) to keep them in a usable state. at outline, there was a massive puke stain in one of the toilet cubicles which made it literally un-enterable - and it remained like this during the following day.
- it would be lovely if bottles of mineral water could be sold at the infodesk, not just soda. Also, it would be a cool and easy-to-do feature if there was not just a coffee machine, but also a water boiler, so people could make their own tea/broth/instant noodles etc.

oh, and last but not least, while the food choice was really cool, still nothing beats the limp ninja chefs! i really do hope the trademark curry will be back next year, and i will be more than willing to help with the chopping etc. once again!

Asking the infodesk would have helped. :)
Dipswitch: For the first two issues we'll rely on visitor participation; for example, if people had told me there was a puke stain somewhere I would've A) tried to find out who didn't clean after themselves and force them to take responsibility or leave the venue immediately without compensation and if necessary via hip toss straight onto the cranium B) (helped the perpetrator to) hose(d) that stain down with a shower or a bucket or whatever C) borrowed the owner's Karcher if all else fails.

Similarly in the case of the sleeping rooms, it's totally OK for visitors to open windows and doors (without breaking them ;)), but realistically speaking we just don't have the manpower to make sure they stay opened according to a schedule. What we can do pretty easily now that we are more aware of the conditions in Willemsoord is making some signs that'll help the visitors to improve their own situation, like "KEEP THIS DOOR OPEN BETWEEN 9AM AND MIDNIGHT", "CLOSE THIS WINDOW IF YOU WANT TO STAND TRIAL FOR MASS MURDER BY SUFFOCATION" (or along those lines ;)).

Concerning the sales of bottled water at the infodesk, we've tried this in the past and sales were dramatic. Dutch people won't buy it because tap water quality in rural Holland is beyond excellent and (quite relevant in our new logistics setup) the price the drinks supplier has to ask to cover for the extra transport/storage/manpower costs would make the sales price much higher than what supermarkets regularly offer- we don't want to ask 2eur for a 1,5l bottle of Evian when you can get a sixpack for less at Aldi or Lidl, or comparable quality for free from the tap.

Concerning the water boiler idea, we're very reluctant to do that since the power for the public coffee (and anything else in the main hall) has to come from 3 16A lines. Same goes for any ventilation/airco/heating in the sleeping building (which has only 1 16A line). There's a huge gas powered boiler in the main hall, the right tap in the kitchen gives water that's already at ~65degrees so even the largest kettle can be brought to cooking temperature in a minute or two on the (again gas-powered) stove. Additionally, there's a large number of iso containers in the bar, so if you need more than just a cuppa feel free to ask the infodesk :)

Last but not least, we'd sure like to see the curry come back to Outline! We just can't decide what other menu we should cancel in favour of it :( ;)
