Jobs for sceners

category: offtopic [glöplog]
Apologies if there are other threads about jobs for sceners, but i thought it might be a good thread. I'm not trying to turn pouet into linkedin or anything :-)

anyway, there is a job going where I work, and I figured a scener might be interested, so if you feel like coming to Bristol, UK (a very nice city) to do embedded security software engineering in C, pop a CV to peter.gordon (at) broadcom /dot/ com.

relevent mad skillz: c, arm, linux, security, git, some c#

great idea, actually just within commute distance for me too I I think. IIRC broadcom is near Aztec West somewhere, I'm just south of W-S-M.

c/c++ yes, arm (meh), linux (nah), security (yes), git (a bit), c# (nah). (lots of other boring stuff, yes)

If I ever find myself in need or looking, i'll contact that guy any ways :)

I'm all for looking for talent anywhere (and sure as hell, there are sceners which might have talent for anything else)... but I'm curious as to where do you see the connection between the demoscene and embedded security software engineering...

... unless you want a very visual about box, of course

no link, other than plenty of sceners like coding and doing low level stuff.

and it would be cool to work with other sceners or ex sceners.

Nice Thread!
initial offer is way off, tho!
Demosceners can code Games or anthying else concerning Graphics! ;)

Ofcoz, most of us can code everything you want us to...but we don´t care...so why should a coder connect to such a job or why would you take a coder, which is not affine to what you need! ;) Just stupid, sorry!

Hope this Thread spawns into sth really useful soonish!
ok sorry I posted the job. I guess all the sceners working for viprinet are doing graphics coding as well.

lol, yeah, sceners only code grpahics and nothing else, that's why i work with several sceners that makes systems, tools and other tech.

Lay off the hooch hardy.

On a related note: i have a webdeveloper job for students in Copenhagen area. Contact me if you like :-)
@rasmus:
Is it graphics programming? ;-) But seriously, thats cool. I had hoped others would post job opportunities here.

@all:
BTW, other good points about the job that I forgot to mention are the free lunch (well, enough for a large baguette and a snack every day), its a nice place to work (at least I enjoy it), Broadcom generally pay well (although I don't know the specific salary they're looking to offer), and this.

This is my last post on the subject of this job, hopefully others will post here when jobs come up where they work.

Well it's not stupid at all, you can not know who will see this, what they like, what they might be looking for or anything at all.
Obligatory mothership recruitment post:

Not a stupid thread at all :)
Sadly, there are no jobs for graphic designers, at all :)
