Revision 2016 - 25th to 28th March - Saarbrücken, Germany

category: parties [glöplog]
Excellent party, well organised and with lots of stuff going on, and, most importantly imo, the atmosphere was really great and felt quite inclusive and friendly. I'm really glad I went and I'm looking forward to the next one. :)

Huge thanks to the organizers for doing such an incredible job providing the stage for so many, many great releases, live acts, seminar talks etc.! It has been an unbelievably good party.

I'm surprised time and time again just how big the percentage of active, creative and helpful people in the demoscene is, compared to "normal" life. Each time I come back from a demoparty. I feel like I have to create more things and offer help to more people, just to at least try to live up to the standards I have experienced the last couple of days.

Now being back at home again, sitting in my office, work feels so... mundane.

Summary from a sofascener:

Great party to watch, well organized, very good compos (I hope the media facade gets more attention next time) and a lot of absolutely stunning prods.

But no Atari 2600 entry this year. :(

Negative from a sofa perspective:
- Streaming was much better last year. Even when the stream was on, you often couldn't judge if the framerate of the demo dropped or if the stream was faltering.
- The compos started and thus ended (2:30!) way too late, also harming the (then too) early seminars on Sunday. This was also much better last year.

Is there any chance for non-anonymyzed entries on ftp?

HUGE kudos for finally fully implementing anonymous system in partymeister (I found it really fun to sit during compos and guessing the authors). But now the party's over, so... :)

As for Revision as a whole - that's obvious.
The One True Demoscene Holiday, like every year :)

Thank you so much to the orga team and every one involved.
Cheers to xtr1m, Gaspode and Saga because we didn't have the opportunity to hang out.

Fuckings to the lazy ass inconsiderate people who make coats fall from chairs to the floor when passing by and don't have the decency to put them back on. You folks suck big time.

Other than that, thanks to the too many people and for too many reasons to list. Basically most of you whom I interacted with.

Hah, the coat thing happened to me a few times. I finally gave up and left it on my bag under /near the table. Not a lot of space between the rows, and you can't really fix that without having less rows. That said, people could probably try to be a bit more considerate.

Anyway, still on my way home since I always fly out Tuesday and have a long way to go... but thanks all for another great party!

I don't know in the end who the stamps went home with but enjoy them. :) I hope others enjoyed them as well too. I may have to try something like that again next year if the theme suits.

It was quite funny to see Truck going around on Friday because I brought him altogether too many chocolate covered gummy bears and he couldn't resist telling people about it. :P
Those gummy bears were awesome. Cheers!

Cheers, buddy! I'd have liked to hang around. Next time I'll try to have my entry ready before the party starts :)

I'll remember this party forever as one of the highlights of my existence.

it was sooooooooooo awesome :)
AceMan and others wondering about the music entries:

Anonymized mp3's were not supposed to go to the ftp, but mistakes do happen when people are tired. They will be fixed tonight with actual releasefiles, once herr D.Fox gets to leave e-werk.

Also: party rocked hard as usual! Organizing kept me quite busy, but I was still able to work some party into my revision party. Shoutout to all the people I saw there. Was fun all the way.

Come to Simulaatio!

Are there any definite news yet on who won the election?

As far as I know the anonymized stuff is not official. It was just like that on the party FTP for the obvious voting reasons, but according to dfox it should be de-anonymized later.
thank you for organizing this awesome event year to year. the world wouldn't be the same without easter party, it's like going home and meet family. always.

ps: kurwa cola kurwa wodka!

Ace party as ever!!! Thanks to the orga team and everyone involved in pulling this all together. Everything run smooth as ever. It's quite easy to take it for granted as it all just seems to happen.

It appears as though someone took heed of my previous comments about old school music compos as the vote page now had players for each tune!!! Amazing feature!! Really helps if you missed the compo and wanna listen again, which I didn't this year but still!

Totally chuffed on the meteoriks win with blueberry! Was buzzing about that! Think I hugged him like 10 times or something.

Thank to everyone who competed in the compos this year. So many great entries in every category.

Most of all a big big thank you to everyone who stayed up and partied with us on the second stage. It was a big ask especially after a long running compo as I think all three of us were surprised just how many of you stayed with us. The only draw back is I only end up with about 2 hours sleep on the last day but it's a hit I took gladly.

To the guy on the bus sat behind me who I over heard saying "the f**king dj last night, playing loud music late, I could have f**king killed him!". Maybe sleeping at the party isn't for you?

Small note on that, it seems like the tracked music compo had MP3d versions like all the other compos available on the vote page, but no music player. Was that an oversight?
awesome experience. big thx to the orgas and also to everyone with whom I had very inspiring discussions and/or just silly drunk babbling too :-)
i'm more a face2face guy, but if for some reason someone wants to get it touch: look for spider-j on CSDb, Phil Zlaus on Facebook or drop me a mail to spider *ät* jansalleine.com
peace!

The scene is no longer as hardcore as it used to be, hence I suggest vegan stickers for your demogroup's next promotional material!
Huge thanks to all organizers and everyone who made this party so awesome! Evilbot truly did make the demoscene great again! ;-)

Last time I attended a demoparty abroad it was BP '10, got a little sidetracked along the way.

We (me & the girl) had a fantastic time. Very well organised, nice and accessible organizers all around, plenty of facilities, had fun playing a few records (though next time I'd appreciate it if it can be planned so I have more than 40 minutes :D), fun competitions, nice meeting those I knew and everyone new to me, affordable beer (especially after I found out what my badge could be used for :D), nice extras (Rock & Roll racing on the couch in the catacombs!)

.. so here's a big thank you to all organizers & everyone attending, being friendly and thereby convincing Anna (was her first party) to join me on more in the future.

Wlll be back next year's easter party. Until then, hope to see some of you at Outline!

I just noticed that the DST switch is during the Revision weekend this year

That's great news in my book! :) My day/night schedule gets fucked up during Revision anyway, so if for once I won't get screwed by the DST switch as well...

Didn't work for me, I feel cheated! Where can I file a complaint?
I also want to thank the organizers for this great party. ;)

Thank you for this awesome event.
It's been a blast to see every old fart I could manage to greet in person on saturday.
My daughter had a wonderful time too. I think she's definitely hooked to demoscene now.
Again, thanks !
