Revision 2016 - 25th to 28th March - Saarbrücken, Germany

category: parties [glöplog]
Oh right an observation I wanted to make - in the following years, can we stop having jingles with a gigantic transient at the very start? I understand that scaring people shitless is funny first, second, third time, but it should probably wear off after a while, right? :)

Great party as always. Thanks everyone that makes this event possible. You truly rock!

I have no idea if "Broom Brom" is still a scene stuff

If it is made by a scener and for the scene (read: no commercial stuff) then it is scene stuff. Simple as that ;)

Foot supply was only a minor improvement compared to last year (worst fries I´ve had for years, and the rest wasn´t convincing either). But we found a yummy arabian fast food nearby in town, so no problem with that =)

Photo competition was a bit pointless: Rushing through 1/3 of the submitted entries in a few minutes and still having broccoli, joysticks and sundowns was quite dull. No idea about the rest of the submissions, but the usual animal closeups and holiday shots would have been more interesting than that.
But i guess the real photo compo has moved to the photowall anyway :D

Overall the party was a very smooth and cozy experience, looking forward to next year already!

A lot of people complained about the pizza, I thought it was okay for something that was being produced en masse - but maybe I just have low standards.

too bad Zum Schranzenhof was closed due to construction work, it's a good restaurant in walking distance. this year, we had to go deeper into Durbach but strangely if you wanna have dinner quite early (16:30 to be back in time for compos on saturday :P) most shit only opened at 18:00. The Mexican next to the ibis hotel is good though!
I had one pizza on friday afternoon and it was pretty good actually. Dunno if it got worse afterwards because of more hungry sceners. I switched to the merguez rolls afterwards, which were pretty delicious. ;)
While the pizza wasn't as good as the one last year, I also found it pretty good.

Maybe a side note is necessary here: the pizza guy we had the last two years bowed out without explanation 4 days before Revision started and we had a hard time to find somebody on such a short notice.

Overall, I was happy that we had this new one and had food there two times - both huge pieces and very edible. Maybe the non-salami variant wasn't that great.

I had the pizza twice - first time it was acceptable (I think it was Friday), the second time it tasted worse. I presume it depends on the time you take it. The pieces were big indeed but the second time I think I left like 1/4 of it as I couldn't eat it anymore.

Well, I thought the pizza was fine and ate there twice.

any party where the only complaint people have is the pizza, need to come to TRSAC.

So in effect, only Revision should come to TRSAC...

to complain about danish food!
well you can't actually get pizza at the party... but then again, pizza isn't Danish food.

Btw, was that C65-looking thing at the partyplace genuine?

If you complain about food quality at demoparties, there's a certain Norwegian demoparty you might want to come to this summer… (Hint: It ends in “olskogen”, and the first letter is not an L.)

Preacher: nope, it was 3d printed, part of an effort to emulate the whole thing on FPGAs

I think it is actually quite positive that there are food stands at Revision! And yeah, pizza at Friday night was good. However it was my first warm meal in about two days so it may be that you shouldn't count on my opinion too much...

I'll fifth (or whatever) the pizza being decent. I thought it was fine. While it's possible side-by-side I might have liked last year's better, who cares. It was warm, tasted good, and was available. :)
but really, we all know it's about the curry wurst ;)
Ekhm, can I kindly ask for ONE link to get ALL photostream images? Also valid for any other party photo streams.

Thanks.

I'll just jump on the food-feedback-train:

The pizza was a major downgrade from last year, where the guy produced a freshly made pizza on-order. Too bad and quite unprofessional if he bailed out 4 days before the party. I didn't try it on friday, but did not like it on Saturday.

But! I really really liked the tunesian stand with all the fresh options! Great job in getting him on-site!! Thanks!

Pizza was fine tbh. Not perfect, but fine. I didn't get sick from it and I didn't think it tastes bad.
