Now I remember why I never learned to use Gimp.

Why, yes, Gimp, offering a brush size slider from 20 to 1,000 pixels per default and making it a nerve-wrecking chore to adjust it to something below 10 pixels seems like A PERFECTLY REASONABLE setting for most tasks! Thank you!!!

i don't do anything in gimp. in the time it loads i have done everything 10 times in preview.

This is usually what I end up doing with GIMP, it rarely gets better than that.

Then I end up launching Photoshop.

Mouse wheel works on those sliders, if it's of any help. I'm more annoyed by this new need to export everything instead of simply saving the file after doing some little modifications.

I got over the "need to export" thing, but the brush size etc. adjustment sliders (which were perfectly fine in Gimp 2.6, IIRC, but got changed like that in 2.8) .. so much that I did some quick hacks in the code to make them less stupid. And I've been a Gimp user since late 90's so that tells something, I suppose.

From the website: "Celebrating 20 years!"

That's how much work went into that steaming pile of turd, making it the best available proof that some things are so badly done that no amount of effort can turn them into something good.

HEY! This thread is meant for cool people who want to share their latest GIMP creations, not for some PS-fanboy lamers who can't stop complaining that some software has a gui that is not similar to the one they have already learned.

@visy: All gimp users have very big gulls

And to all fellow gimpers: do not submit to the taunting of the Adobe homoclub! You don't have to make any excuses! Gimp proudly, gimp forever!

Here's some quick gimping cos the last few messages have been just mindless rabbling.

just STFU. who cares about which software you use? The result is what matters. and so far in this thread i only see 99.9% shit results.
