Negative commentry (again?)

category: general [glöplog]
rutra80: stalking is not the act of accessing public information, but rather focusing on a one person (aka victim) then digging deeper and making his life harder "from the shadows" - there is a big difference.

I also checked Starchaser case, it looks like he is talking about petty issue from April 2013, when someone just put "..." under his prod in supposed to be "revenge" to comments on Hugi thread. Is this all? If yes, this is really not even close to stalking.

Yeah, because m0d was such a sweetheart to me and a close friend, I can't get angry? :) Oh well, just poking a bit of fun here.

In order to lighten the mood, I can recommend listening to this great piece of uplifting country by a certain Daryle Singletary!

Oh... amazing ;)

I am very interested in what way my statement was retarded, would u tell me about that?

Larger explanation: Overreacting to negative / rude / offensive comments and, what already mentioned, suicidal thinking / depression from trivial things such as reading internet comments are, is a sign of retard and social disability.
This kind of people quite often tend to impose on people in charge to protect their feelings by introducing more kinds of an internet censorship just because they are not able to react to bad comments or take critics. Being around in international communities gave me interesting experience that the bigger complainers are Americans - that does not apply to all single person of course, but this is obvious and doesn't require explaining. I am talking about percentage share of complainers in general.

Too much of unwarranted negativity is not good and it never is nice to see while it escalates, but it EXISTS (in "net" or "real" world) and will exist. Being unable to properly handle it is worse. Such people should not use internet till they grow balls and get thick skin.

So.. would u explain to me finally in what way my comment was retarded? :)

Probably making sweeping generalisations about an entire country.

I like how a thread about trying to get people not to make negative comments ends up with people making negative comments. Internets gonna internet.

put the bad things into a sack of cotton flocks. and then hit on it :D
Yes. Saying the majority of americans are retarded is literally generalising. Any more questions?

No questions, but I suggest you to learn what the word "majority" means before you confuse it again with generalizing. :D

Ok you got me. At first I thought you were being serious, but trying to correct me by using americanised spelling while at the same time bashing america is some top tier trolling. Fine subtle humour, well played.

Let me guess: you, personally, see this a lot. I wonder what we could infer from that...

And some people really should stop being assholes on the Internet, especially to people who do not have the capability to cope with it or fight back . No censorship there, just common decency.

Congratulations on demonstrating that you know absolutely nothing about depression.

Bashing lack of ability to deal with others and bashing the complainers assumes no boundaries

No, I ve seen, when I used to deal with complaints that including US people for several years. No longer need to deal with complaints so no more fun. So you can infer that I have enough experience which I base my opinions and conclusions about biggest complainers who cannot handle internet activity by themselves :)
But come on, if you are not having this problem you will not be offended by my words.

Creonix: thank you for sharing your insightful observations about american (US) society. However, I disagree with you. I also have some experience and I know few people personally. Maybe it's not the biggest and the most representative sample, especially that all my friends tend to be quite intelligent :) Saying that I can also see that there are some mindset and communication-style differences. Europeans tend to be more straightforward, even on the level of being considered as rude, while people in US tend to be more indirect and wrapping things up to the level of pretending. Again, this is an observation from a small sample, but I've never noticed that it has anything to do with intelligence or any kind of stupidity. Nevertheless, again, for majority I cannot say - I would assume many people in Europe are not that bright either ;)

I have had my own share of problems with suicidal thinking and depression although not for several years, thankfully. And no, they had nothing to do with things that happened online nor were they caused by things that I read and was offended about.

However, assume I'd indeed have a a problem with your words and was indeed offended. Of course it would be "my problem" in the sense that it's happening inside my head and the rest of the world could and probably even should not care less. I'm the first in line to tell that free speech is a basic human right. However, you'd still be the asshole. People who act like dicks online (or in person, but for some reason the relative anonymity of the Internet brings out the worst in people) are the problem, not people who are sensitive to certain things. Again, basic human civility.
