Video captures for test streams (to make my job a bit more interesting)

category: general [glöplog]

Hello folks,

In my day job I work for a semiconductor company that makes chips for set top boxes and dongles (i.e. satellite, cable, iptv, streaming dongles etc).

As part of my work I have to push video through the chips, and sometimes these test streams get passed on to partner companies etc. In reality, I look at the same few clips A LOT.

Would be nice to have a bit more variety, and demos are always nice to look at :-). I don't want to just take peoples captures, though. Especially since I need to sometimes send test streams to other teams or partner companies, and you won't be getting any fame or money (sorry).

So, if you don't mind your captures being used and passed around the STB industry, please let me know.

Be sure to get some real streamkillers, so that people realize how bad their encoders are :-P

ftp://retronn.de/videos/ especially ftp://retronn.de/videos/demos/

Vokawardoai / Satori
Uncovering Static / FLT
Ino / Quite

may push encoders a bit, also some of the dos captures have weird resolutions/framerates with forced 4:3 DAR.

@enigma:

I take it those are your captures, but not your content? If so I'll pass, but thanks anyway.

@ zoom:

I'm tempted to use supermode as a test stream because it'll confuse the hell out of anyone who doesn't know what the demoscene or intros are ;-)

i think this might be a good stress test for a video processor, esp. second part =D https://files.scene.org/view/parties/2017/revision17/pc_demo/no_ambition_by_quite_vs_t-rex_4k60fps.mp4
