TRSAC - GO TO HELL - 20th - 22nd of October 2017, Aarhus, Denmark

category: parties [glöplog]
Massive love to the orga team for delivering another one of this year's highlights <3 The combination of super cozy and family-like on the one hand and completely batshit bonkers on the other is what makes TRSAC unique to me. I was bummed to miss it last year and this year reminded my why.

Super kudos for the huge and quiet sleeping areas (except when lug00ber was tearing down the place of course).

If I had one nit to pick, I think the sound system was _too_ loud. Great, but too loud. I donned musician's earplugs but then the bass drowned out most everything else. There must be a volume level that's still enjoyable and blasting without risking damage to your hearing, and that sweet spot was not hit for me this year.

Nevertheless, I'm already looking forward to next year's edition! =D

Allow me to rephrase my party experience: TRSAC was (mostly) great; well organized, good facilities, enough space, so props.

As for you T-101: playing judge, jury and executioner, really? You, like many, and that includes me, don't know exactly what, when and how happened. Just who and what you choose to believe. Now I've laid this thing to rest with the guys involved and will readily admit that my *reaction* was of abnormal proportion for a while - I should have gotten a normal amount of sleep and that would've looked different so that's 100% on me. As for the rest: it's best to lay it to rest. I've got no qualms with anyone anymore, and in the case I do decide to attend again I'll do 2 things: get enough sleep (duh) and forego shaking your hand if that's what makes you happy.

Last but not least: great job organizers.

I, too, had a blast. Thanks to the already praised to pieces-venue and of course the fabolously well executed theme. Trsac is the absolutely perfect balance between large party with awesome releases and small and cozy meaning there's time to get to chat with most people there.

Compos ran smooth, releases were awesome, big screen and sound system worthy of a 1000+ people party. And all this, mainly thanks to the organizers' skillfully balancing between total chaos and german disciplin. Amazing job once again.

Also, a special and warm thanks to all the nice people that stayed at my place before and after the party. You guys are amazing <3

The amount of party being had, no matter where you look, is probably the best evidence, that TRSAC is truly one of the absolute must-visit's during a demoscene-year!

I don't really track what parties I have visited anymore unfortunately but I think last time I was visiting TRSAC must have been 2009 or something. Anyway far too long ago and even though it was a very good party ten years ago, it has matured into a full party experience for everybody involved.

First of all the trip there and back from Copenhagen which Punqtured organized. Big thanks for that.

Wednesday before the party I decided to do this electronics project instead of mindlessly coding on my GUI or some demo effect which wouldn't be released. I stole Purux only light source so we could do soldering 24/7, big thanks for that even tho I didn't exactly wait for you to answer the question before I took it :-) Unfortunately you didn't got the time or energy to show it on the big screen but I understand fully and it was still awesome just to show it to people at the party. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8JRasyJdtI (recorded during the ACID compo).

Wheely Retard, you know who you are. Great to meet you and also a great talk with a lot of the sceners around. And it was sure good to have the cafeteria around when the bass was destroying everything laying on a table inside ;-) I agree with dojoe that it got out of hand. I used earplugs but sometimes I had to go out because I felt my body got harmed. And back in the cafeteria the windows were shaking as hell. I get it, but I just don't like it.

Talking about the cafeteria. Their level of service can not be underestimated. The beer cards sure made things smooth (and prob. economical for them) and their food was actually better than most fast food restaurants. Those burgers were great but also toast etc was quite enjojable. Also close to 24h service. Big thanks to them! With a service like this the food ticket is almost unnecessary!

The demo scene area and sleeping halls, along with the cafeteria, location etc is sure great for a party of this size (even if it has space to grow). The toilets were as far as I'm concerned acceptable. The seating area of the cafeteria was big enough to host a smal party in itself and provided excellent conversation space when the music in the hall was too big.

I was too busy soldering to enjoy some of the quiz but it looked fantastic and was really fun to watch. The compos seemed well organized (apart from amiga sync!) and you could tell a lot of time went into everything to provide a smooth projector experience. Of course you could always wish for more entries but fuck me also. We need to deliver!

The free beer and pepperschnapps along with some guy giving out swiss chocholate etc. How can you not fell in love with suck a place?!

It's been too long since I last visited, but it won't be far to the next.

Thank you for hosting. You know what the fuck you are doing.

Also, live acid compo. I think last time I visited it was the first year(?) it was hosted, but man is that a cool compo!

Dojoe: regarding "too much bass", were there any live acts or compos where this was worse than others? We sure had a *very* powerful system this year :) also where were you located when it was worst?
Definitely want to improve this if has been too much at times :)

I think the issue wasn't with the PA itself. Most of the time the sound was just about fine (imho). There were a few entries that sounded like they wanted to win the loudness race.

I rather want to have an oversized PA that doesn't distort when things get beefy than one that's always driven to the max. It'd mean much more trouble for our ears.

That said, I think what can be improved is a bit riding the of the fader when it's getting too loud. Downsizing the PA would be the wrong road.

Btw, the prices for the Acid compo are sorted. Congrats to Booster, Flunkium and Teo!

This was a great weekend with all you guys again! Very much looking forward to next years issue :)

Even if you have the best and the biggest you can still eq the sound a bit, no?

It was unpleasantly much bass. So much I left the hall during the music compo. If you think that's cool, whatever, I'm not voting anyway.

We're always happy to see (new) attendees enjoy themselves, that's the main reason we do it, having great releases come second.

Thanks for the feedback!

Absolutely amazing party again! I also found that the soundsystem was very bassful this time. But not only is this typical for TRSAC. This year's theme was "welcome to hell" so it made sense. And I'm fine with loud soundsystems as long as there are enough free earplugs left.

Also 1 million hugs to my dear friend Farfar who saved my sleep by borrowing me his spare airbed after mine had broken (Dodge: "Don't pump up too hard, it will explode haha". Me: "I like it a little harder haha". Airbed: "Puff...!").

Rumor has it that IndustrialPope's images from the party has been made available on Facebook. Since I don't use Facebook, I'd like to know if they will be available somewhere else. Pope? :)
