...but you don't archive shader showdown entries, don't you? ;)

Again a super deadline! I especially want to thank Wayfinder for his blast of a dj set in the early morning hours (or the rest of the night).

The TRBL same-day party photo delivery service is at it again with more behind-the-scenes photos than ever, because all of us were organizers this time.

provod: no worries, it's a righteous complain. The sound is what makes your entry so great after all. we will send you a trophy to make up for the voting disadvantage this had for your entry. <3

tomkh: Havoc has them saved on a USB-Stick and we will make them available in the coming days.

Thanks to everybody for coming, releasing, bearing with us when there were videoissues (I will tell the background story somewhen) and for making Deadline as great as it was <3

Btw. detailed feedback on what was good and bad this year is greatly appreciated, so that we know where to improve next year! :)

...and what to keep like that :)

(of course we have an own list of improvements already, but it's always important to get to know the visitors perspective on things :) )

v3nom: thanks for the organization.

I have small feedback for shader showdown - the voting system was very ambiguous.
I have been siting in the front row and it was really not clear who was screaming louder/longer, therefore I strongly suspect kb just picked winners arbitrarily.

I know it's the usual way you are doing it on other parties, plus it mimics "rap battles", but it doesn't work all that well - I guess particularly when the party is smaller.

Thanks to everyone who made this party the amazing party it was.
Still a bit dead from dancing to wayfinder's set until almost 5 in the morning.
See you all there next year!
during the wayfinder set i remember thinking i need to take a pee and found myself waking up in the (very comfortable) trash container early in the morning. yes, i may have been a little xhausted after all. up to that point i really liked the set tho - i hope to get a full copy once its released!
thanks for a great time at deadline. if i had to make one complaint its the decision to replay the whole 256byte compo. i know why you did it and it makes kind of sense but i would have preferred a little more delay or the entries which didnt work or were left out being shown seperately afterwards.
but thats nitpicking and i really enjoyed my stay at ORWO once again, so thank you =)!
oh and also thanks for the computerspielemuseumsdeal(tm), we had a great time there and they even have a panel on the demoscene =). a perfect way to end a scene trip to berlin.

so again: thanks to all the people i had really nice talks to and sorry to all the others i wanted to talk to but missed somehow (its always the same), see you next year! (or at some random other party. i recommend nordlicht, btw. ;).

the shader showdown voting thing is an ongoing cause of discussion. while its true that vote-by-cheering isnt the most accurate nor fair method available, making it votable like a usual compo takes the realtime-show aspect a bit out of it. its not just about the end product but also about entertaining a crowd of people who enjoy watching shaders grow up, after all ;)
maybe a special "live voting" interface could be done, with not 5 stars but just 1 radio button or whatever for one of the currecht competitors. if you want to have some more fun you could also live-display the current votes for each candidate somwhere on the screen to give it a little more interaction.

thanks for the great stream!
about shader showdown: hand out colored cards, count them. this should work for small parties. seen this at poetry slams.

Lost:

I can't find my Sennheiser HD 201 headphones since the party. They have a grey cable tie on them, with a "deleyCON" label. Not an expensive pair, but if anyone maybe found them (orgas during cleanup?), or accidentally took them, would be appreciated to have them back.

Other:

Thanks for the orgas for the party. I had a great time, despite the obvious compo problems. There's always a next time to do it better. :)

Thanks for the stream, watched a bunch of compos and it looked really cosy. Will definitely visit one day!

Also yay for being third in tracked with my silly song! <3

Charlie: Your headphones have been found indeed and we'll somehow make them being returned to you.
Many thanks for the party... I will be happy to come to Berlin again next year. Big-big danke schon to you all! :D

thanks a lot everyone involved! this was my first deadline, and i'll definitely try to come back next year! i had lots of fun. it was great to meet some old friends again, make new ones, and an honour to meet some berlin scene legends (skin & amblin, siegel, amok, ...).

minor criticism/suggestion for next year: the food variety was a bit lacking. the pizza was nice, but not two days in a row! isn't it possible to make an agreement with a food truck operator? since this is such a godforsaken part of berlin, with absolutely no food locations nearby, this would be really nice, and surely popular. alternatively, it would be nice if either the infodesk or the bar would sell at least some salty snacks, like nuts or crackers...
