EP IQ LEVEL

category: general [glöplog]
@Adok:
i understand what you say, but i don't really mean that. I'll try to explain what i mean with an example:

Let's say that i take five persons, Joe, Nick, Stella and Mary. I give them some logical tests to solve and i note the time that each one of them took. My notes are Joe=2mins, Stella=3mins, Nick=4mins and Mary=5mins. I say that Joe's score (which solved the tests in the less time) is 100, Nick's 50, etc. Also let's say that Joe is a very smart person, at least his attitude shows so.

Then i give the same tests to you, and you score 85.

What does that mean?

That you are a very smart person, that you have high skills in solving logical tests or that from the above people you are mostly like Joe?

BadSector: IMHO, tests in which the time is a parameter of the function that computes the IQ value are not good because they may make some people rush, which will usually make them get less precise results than when they stay calm.

@Adok:
That was just an example. I could simply write that Joe answers correct to all logical tests and scored 100, while you scored 85. Again, the question(s) is (are) the same :-).

@Upravleny Lager:
die

BadSector : bit later, okay ?

and now good news for Adok :
here a screen above the bottom of page you can find some useful IQ calculator which affirms that Stanford-Binet IQ of 145 equals to Cattell IQ of ( *fanfares* ) 168 !!!!

Tickle also contains a Test called Super IQ Test. It's located at http://web.tickle.com/tests/superiq/. My result:

I liked this test more than the Classical IQ test at the same site because this test doesn't contain these stupid questions related to famous quotations and purely factual knowledge.

oh, so there are different IQ "metrics" ? How nice :-)

Eight dimensions of intelligence, 6 out of 1,000 and still no clue.

Interesting: Adok has taken over the topic starter's thread. Does ep feel dumb and stopped writing here? Or is he just writing a text about iq-test revealed?

Adok: Ok, you seem to be the most clued person here. I just have a simple question: How comes you've registered for Buenzli and tUM and weren't there?
Or is ep just thinking that sometimes it would be better not to be a prophet. Who knows...
@Adok:
Can i have a little scepsis on this last test? I took it (btw, 133 is my result - coming closer to you, is that good or bad? :-P) and it gave me exactly the same "title" (Creative Theorist). It seems too much :-).

Anyway, i'm *WAY* too tired (i was yawning almost from the second page). Going home to sleep...

hmm, just took that "super" iq test and got 141 also, but i'm a "Complex Intellectual" apparently ;P

Now...

6. Which object will fall faster? An 8 x 11 piece of paper or a peanut? Both weigh the same amount.

The piece of paper
The peanut
It's impossible to know

By answering: the peanut, you will get a higher score. WTF?

Less air resistance?

depends what they mean by piece of paper...
If its a 1.5x1.5cm compressed paper for recycling, it may have higer density than the peanut.

Then they didn't precise which were the condition of the experiment. air, vaccum, water, beer, distilled horse shit ?
What is the gravity? Does the experiment take place in Langevin twins conditions? Thus are the time reference the same for the two falls...
Does the experience take place in the same condition as the weight mesurement?

I guess those tests don't suit for sceners, who generally are psychotic...

They are still fun though...

rainmaker: I guess it's due to aerodynamics. Because of the shape of the paper and the shape of the peanut.

MadenMann: I don't remember whether I registered for tUM, but regarding Buenzli, the story is in my blog.

BadSector: Maybe "creative theorist" is more typical of demosceners than of normal people.

Bagpuss: Cool! What's the description of that type?
added on the 2005-02-10 11:32:54 by Adok Adok
adok:

The way you think about things makes you a Complex Intellectual. This means you are highly intelligent and have extraordinarily strong verbal and math skills. Compared to others you are a highly conceptual and complex thinker and are able to understand information in an abstract form. You also show great attention to detail. In fact, it's hard to find something you're not good at.

doesn't really sound much like me though :P

lazy bum would of been a better description.
