pouët.net

youtube started striking channels with videos with links to pouet

category: general [glöplog]
My channel just got a strike for linking pouet on the video capture of stuck by jetlag.

Has anyone else ran into similar issues?

Oh, apparently the entire pouet.net is now considered unsafe by Google Safe Browsing.

I just got striked as well, for linking to pouet in the capture of "Memories" on my youtube channel.

Google chrome urgently advises me to NOT visit pouet because of dangerous software, i have to manually override that.

So sorry about this :(

I reported the false positive to Google. I also have a few email addresses I can contact if this persists, but ultimately there's not much we can do.

google safe browsing is striking anything that hosts files compressed with kkrunchy. it is just a matter of time.

Same here. I didn't get striked (yet) but got a warning. Good that the issue is noticed and reported to Google.

Warning on pouet.net seems to be gone again.

So that's the world we deserve. machine-'learning' algorithms that lack even a smallest bit of intelligence, and lazy motherfucked coprorations that are trying to rule the world.

The issue is being worked on, it was reported to Google and I just found out that there's a Demoscene Task Force working at Google who will furrow their brows intensely to get this resolved.

Oh, so it's just based on those generic reports of that SW which degenerated from antivirus SW?

I was initially thinking Google started the final war against executables to lock down everything to javascript and android java/kotlin apps...

Ok, maybe not this time, yet.

Same here. At 5 video captures on my channel YT removed the pouet.net links.
Same here at me at my https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fb6Ay3PLyLg upload

@LLB: What should we do to the YT channel warnings? Will they go away? Should we appeal?
added on the 2020-04-13 02:11:52 by Charlie Charlie
They should disappear. Can you try again?

My warning is still there (tried just now), and the link in the video description is still shown as hidden. Maybe it needs some time to populate...?

My strike-warning is also still there

Still flagged for violation here and link removed from my "Save The Earth" Atari ST demo.

The whole process is kind of retarded: I did an appeal on the strike, got as a return a "Next steps for your appeal email saying:

Quote:
Hi Dbug's stuff,

We’ve received your appeal for the following URL:

http://pouet[.]net/prod[.]php?which=54106

In order for your link to be approved, you’ll need to request a review of your link from the Webmaster team. Follow the steps on this site to get started.

Sincerely,

The YouTube Team

So basically they are pushing the review the other way around: Instead of having some humans look at if the link is safe, they want you to use the google tools to check the page, which obviously does not work if you don't own the page - or use google tools... kind of brain damaged approach to the problem.

btw many popular anti virus and malware software are doing the same.
both ad aware and malware bytes are blocking pouet and other demoscene sites like defacto2 , untergrund.net and scene.org since years.

When it happened to me the red screen was not removed by any mean, I ended up by closing my website and throw to trash what was on it because I didn't want to find another domain name and restart from zero again and again.

It hapenned with one of my drawing app on the store (I removed it since then). A review like "qsjdh ksqdjh qkdjsqd sq dqd qdk hkjh" + one star. I reported it and the human answering me say it is ok and the review will not be erased. I tried at least 3 times... always same result.

Google is gogole.
