Of course, and thanks to the orgas, that the ban is finally removed.

That ban was already lifted for the 2023 edition of Evoke. "finally", my ass.

He missed a lot of evokes.
is complete bullshit. He "missed" 2023 and 2024 by his own choice.

I considered, maybe "Noust" in all her/his/their cluelessness is a second account of "Ghandy", then again: can't be, English is too good ;)

So it's probably just a fake account :)

As far as I know Hardy was not informed that his ban was lifted. Else they wouldn't have to ask if he's allowed to come in, or?

But that doesn't really matter. Fact is, this year there were no problems, Hardy was happy and I think it was a good decision to give him a second chance. And yes, thanks to the orgas for their decision and of course for Evoke!

Noust is not my fake account. I have never used any fake accounts, not here and nowhere else.

Back in action, just wrote my farewell to Stingray article which I had to think about a long time.

Seems to be a pattern that I have to stop reading due to excessive cringe already after the first couple of paragraphs

it's funny how it starts with "The only person with anything negative to say was Scamp" and then you continue to say a whole bunch of negative things :')

My favourite was having a party report containing “I didn't have to talk to person X at this party, but I still want to point out how much I hate talking to them”.

@britelite: Why exclude Scamps statement even if I cannot agree with anything he said in the video?

@lynn: Well, I did enjoy visiting this party. I didn't care that much about the negative things, because to sum it up it was a fantastic event!

@Magic: Nice you are back in the Amiga scene. Yes, we're still working on the first issue, the mag engine doesn't code itself. ;-)

It was YOUR statements that made me cringe... and judging by your text you do agree with a lot of things Scamp says

Sorry, but this is not true. I was at the party and enjoyed it very much.

Funnily enough, I had an encounter with Antje, one of the organisers, when I made a harmless joke to WOTW and her. ‘You’d better think fast about what you’re going to say to me,’ she said immediately, ‘otherwise you’ll be kicked out.‘ I wasn’t full of drugs, I was not drunken and my joke was really harmless. Apparently, we live in an era of extreme ‘political correctness’. I have to say, that really pisses me off.
Ja, Herr Gottschalk.

I wonder what the harmless joke was. Probably something very funny and fresh!

To be honest, I can't remember exactly, but it wasn't harsh or insulting.

In the early '90s, there weren't any "feel-good" teams either, yet people were rarely treated badly. The organisers made sure that people didn't get too drunk, didn't start fights or broke anything. That was about it, and back then, that was enough — at least in my opinion.

Are you sure people were rarely treated badly, or just that people similar to you were rarely treated badly?

Indeed, you could hardly call Exotic Men a feel-good team.

All nerds were treated badly in 70's, 80's and early 90's, that didn't stop them ruling the world now. For ghandy, i don't know what the joke was, but so what, answer with better joke about him, not threat with throwing out.

(and the point isn't just that these incidents were happening, it's that they were treated as within the bounds of acceptable behaviour to the point that someone felt fine bragging about it in a text file - and how many more things like this didn't make it to a text file?)

Fwiw, every single female (four) I've brought to a demoparty over the years has been made uncomfortable by some (male) people there, by commenting or ogling. That doesn't happen nearly as often with other social contexts or hobbies and in most cases those environments deal with it swiftly.
