Please mirror my collections
category: general [glöplog]
I am realizing that some of the content I am serving is becoming increasingly load-bearing; in particular, ftp.gathering.org contains some stuff not on scene.org, and pouet-mirror.sesse.net is the only thing standing between a lot of non-scene.org-hosted prods and oblivion. I am not comfortable with this. Does anyone want to mirror my stuff?
To be clear: I have offsite backups, and I have tested that they work. I do not plan on going away. But nobody is, and it would be good to have someone who is not me add some extra redundancy to the process.
What I'm looking for is for someone to rsync ftp.gathering.org and pouet-mirror.sesse.net (the contents, not the crawling code) every night or so. I'm not looking for someone who actually wants to host it on to others (unless they want to); I have the bandwidth, I just want the extra insurance. ftp.gathering.org is about 300GB if you exclude the scene.org and ftp.untergrund.net mirrors. pouet-mirror.sesse.net is about 4.4TB. There's about 1TB to be saved from that if your storage system supports block-level dedup, depending a bit on what other mirrors you are hosting already.
Any takers? Anonymous rsync is open.

Yep, I'm running a mirror both from you and from ftp.gathering.org. My mirror is not available publicly though, but you know how to poke me if you need anything at some point in time.
