Beta 3 is available.

Please go to the settings/account screen (if you’ve already created an account) to trigger the resync after beta 3 DB reset.

Lots of new stuff & fixes on the playback engines, the visualizers, navigation, playlist management, ...

I see we can now drag/drop files onto the player and double click files from the file manager (macOS). Thanks a bunch!

For SNDH, it will only recognize the ".snd" extension, not ".sndh" for doubleclick, drag/drop works for .sndh as well. Would be nice if .sndh was recognized :)

Thanks for linking all the libraries you used.

I been working on a libretro-based audio player like rePlayer, but also for anything libretro supports (still needs a software renderer based UI, currently its GL/GLES), so all these libs would help.

Yoyo: thx for the looping tip, yes that works for me <3

ok great. for beta 4 I will change the behaviour of the repeat current file mode (when the repeat button is activated with the small 1 badge on it).
If the file/playback support real loop with loop start/loop end points, it will be interpreted as force infinite loop.
If it doesn't support it, it will be as today, restarting from beginning.

this is amazing software! I've used modizer before when I was still using an iPhone, but now that I'm using an android device this app feels somewhat right at home :)

I do have some suggestions though, can you add a way to import a folder into the app, since I have a bunch of music files in a specific folder and I want to listen to them right away.

Also, while I do know that the UI is trying to be like apple music (with the queues and things like that), is there are way to make the app play one song with no queues, and if you try to play a different song it stops the previous one and plays the newly selected one right away.

Anyway I'm really happy that there's finally a cross platform modizer-ish chiptune player, since when I switched over to android one of the only things I missed using in iOS was modizer :D

thanks for the feedback.

what I can add quickly is a way to have the local browser allowing multiple files selection. You can open your folder, then "select all" and it will initiate a new queue with all your file.
You can also initiate a new playlist from the queue if you want to relaunch them later quickly.

I don't plan to have a real "import" feature for now as it would require significant changes in the current logic to have imported file well integrated with the server ones.

in next beta, when you select a song, a popup will open allowing you to choose what you want to do

Beta 5 is available, android/iOS/macos

Playback
• Tracks now follow one another without a gap, with an optional crossfade you can set from 0 to 8 seconds.
• Endless loop: the elapsed time keeps rising, the total reads "∞ (length)", and seeking stays exact.
• The whole queue can download ahead, one file at a time — an option in Settings, off by default.

Your own files
• A new Local tab: import files, folders and archives into a library that survives updates, artwork included.
• "Open with" and drag-and-drop now work on iOS and Linux too, not only on macOS.
• A Storage screen shows what the app keeps and lets you take it back, category by category, with multi-selection.

Browsing
• Related collections fold into a single entry, and the filter follows everywhere: search, facets, artists, playlists and charts.
• Play all, Radio and Surprise now sit together on most lists — search tabs, collection views and charts — and act on what you are looking at.
• The Songs tab lists the tracks whose name matches, inside an album or not, and playing one plays that track rather than the whole album.
• Reorder the tabs and the home sections, and pick which tab opens at launch.
• The mini player stays out of the way once you scroll: it comes back when you return to the top, or when you tap the navigation icon.

Formats
• New: Audio Sculpture (Amiga), FAC Soundtracker (MSX), Vortex .vt2, MultiTrackContainer .mtc, E-Tracker (Atari), Amiga LhA archives, and the subsongs of FamiTracker .ftm modules.
• MP3, WAV and FLAC now report their real container and codec in the ⓘ panel.
• SID: a subsong takes its title from STIL's own fields, so a cover version no longer replaces the track name.

Plus many fixes to downloads, the queue, artwork and the Amiga engines.

is it possible to install the beta via appstore? my phone belongs to my company and forbids sideloading...

the beta installs via
- play store on android
- testlfight (official apple app) for iOS. So if you can install TestFlight from App Store that's fine. I just need your email to put you in the list (you can use the link on https://rewamp.app or send me an email to help@rewamp.app)

Beta 6.1 (v0.6.1) is available on macOS & android, and very soon on iOS (pending apple validation).

New engines and formats:
• Roland MT-32 engine for game MIDI, using munt(mt32emu). Need to upload your own MT32 roms.
• Ten rare module formats now play: Archimedes Tracker (.musx), .liq, .fnk, .mgt, .stim, .emod and more.
• Westwood AdLib music (.adl — Dune II, Eye of the Beholder…) plays every one of its tracks, instead of only the silent first one.
• BP SoundMon V1 modules are recognised on Amiga.

Mac only
• A mini player with option to display basic playback info or a vizualiser
• "Always on top", for the main window and the mini player alike, also in the Window menu.

Visualizers
• Oscilloscope, notes and piano can name and colour each instrument, not just each voice.
• projectM: presets no longer come back in the same order at every launch, and a preset is no longer set aside as "too heavy" after a pause or with the window minimised.

Browsing and playback
• Search and artist pages: filter the tunes that placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a demoscene competition.
• Game files often hold more sound effects than music: subsongs shorter than a threshold (5 s by default, Settings → Playback) are left out of "Play all". They stay listed, greyed, and play when tapped.
• Your imports: drop a whole folder — the archives inside are unpacked — and create, rename or move folders.

Fixes
• PC Engine (.hes), Master System (.sgc) and Atari ST (.sndh): some tracks started the song next to the right one.
• MIDI: the drums no longer play as a piano, the volume no longer clips, and seeking no longer leaves old notes ringing.
• The Piano visualizer stayed empty on PC Engine music.
• A multi-song file no longer shows up twice in "Recently played".

Performance and reliability
• The app no longer works away in the background when nothing is playing: far less processor and battery, on every platform.
• A database left broken by an update now repairs itself, instead of making the library unreachable.
• DB reset will now really reset DB (before, only some tables were purged)
