NR4: How would you define sizecoded music? All executable music? All executable music below 4k? Below 1k?
added on the 2026-08-07 12:45:40 by britelite britelite
"executable music" type, selectable together with the size types (similar to how "procedural graphics" works) :)
added on the 2026-08-07 14:11:46 by NR4 NR4
the compo type is usually "32k executable music" for this kind of prods
added on the 2026-08-07 14:13:30 by NR4 NR4
Are you sure it would be a good idea to invite thousands upon thousands of C64 tunes to be added?
added on the 2026-08-07 14:37:58 by britelite britelite
some stats: 102632 prods

I mean, it's not like there weren't thousands upon thousands already :)

in any case, this sends the message "slop > creating music with coder methods" which I don't agree with.
added on the 2026-08-07 14:53:45 by NR4 NR4
But "executable music" isn't the same thing as "creating music with coder methods", not even close
added on the 2026-08-07 14:58:19 by britelite britelite
well, you clearly haven't used 4klang before then :) no offense, great synth, but very much a coder method
added on the 2026-08-07 18:04:24 by NR4 NR4
anyways I'm not achieving anything here, I'll stop

IMHO sizecoded music should be here as well if even vibeslopping some audiovisual with klaudius & his robot friends can be added as scene achievement

if the sizecoded music is presented eg as musicdisk with menu and maybe gfx and such then yes. but without anything on screen: no. just like executable music. yes there is that logicoma tracked music entry in the db but one can't top that anyway ;) and it shows something.

because you brought it up: the added ai coding compo serves 2 purposes: 1: folks (will) add this stuff anyways no matter if you do not want it, me or random user 9. now that assembly has had such a compo it can't be helped. and 2: everyone who is too lazy to look into the nfo can see what it is before praising how well chosen the colors are. Which might bring other problems if released outside of a party. But that ai compo argument is not the best. Plus "within seconds" is a bit dramatic - it was a few days. please stick to the facts. And it is the users/sceners who decide if something like that is an achievement or not, not the pouet database nor the one of dz or any other site. but that's digressing.
Hello,

Once again I am sending an edit request to move a MacOS ARM prod from "MacOS" to "MacOS Intel". This is a waste of time for everyone. People will continue getting this wrong.

It looks like a new platform will not happen, despite having more than enough prods and an icon.

Would you at least consider renaming "MacOS Intel" to "MacOS Intel/ARM" so that people stop mixing up 68K Mac and ARM prods when submitting? Or maybe rename "MacOS" to "MacOS classic"?
Hello,
Can you add Raspberry Pi Pico and Raspberry Pi Pico 2?
added on the 2026-09-01 17:35:59 by yami.five yami.five
raspberry pi platform already exists
added on the 2026-09-01 17:55:51 by havoc havoc
yes, but Raspberry Pi is minicomputer and Raspberry Pi Pico is microcontroller. they are different platform
Also on pouet you don't have just Amiga or PlayStation but each model and separate platform.

actually, no we don't, look closer

anyway, read https://www.pouet.net/faq.php#faq53 and you can make lists for prods that are specifically made for one of the raspi subplatforms

I respectfully disagree, 060 let alone PPC demos are a separate platform than Amiga 500 demos. Raspi the microcontroller and the big Raspi unit differ very similarly in capabilities.

Totally. AGA is much more like PC with it's fast fancy processors, and OCS is the final iteration of Jay Miner's computer that he was working on since Atari 2600. Of course the Miner's computer still exists with aga too , but it seems to be most often used to accelerate matrix transposes :)

And yeah, rpi pico != regular rpi. RPI1/2/3/4/5 etc. are also different from each other but I'd say they're still a single platform. I'd say main reason for them being under one category though is that there's probably so few prods for all rpi platforms, that it doesn't warrant a split yet?
<sigh>

I was curious about how many prods have actually been released for Apple Silicon so far. Since this information is not available from the platform tags, I instigated an analysis of all Mac prods released since 2020.

The result was... a mess.

There is only 1 prod from this period tagged with "MacOS PPC". Not much to say about that one.

Of 14 prods tagged with "MacOS":
- 1 is a genuine MacOS 68k binary.
- 5 are for PPC.
- 2 are universal x86/Arm binaries.
- 4 are for Arm.
- 1 is for Web.
- 2 seemingly have no download for Mac.

Of 78 prods tagged with "MacOSX Intel":
- 21 are genuine x86 binaries.
- 16 are universal x86/Arm binaries or include both x86 and Arm binaries.
- 6 are for Arm.
- 12 are architecture-independent (Python or on-the-fly compiled C).
- 4 are for Web
- 5 have no Mac-executable form (video, source, other data)
- 14 seemingly have no download for Mac.

It clearly causes continual confusion and inconsistency to have a platform called "MacOS".

I suggest we restructure to have four platform tags consistently named after instruction set architecture:

- MacOS 68k (rename of current MacOS)
- MacOS PPC (rename of current MacOSX PPC)
- MacOS x86 (rename of current MacOSX Intel)
- MacOS Arm (new)

Prods that run on multiple architectures (whether due to universal binaries or architecture independence) can be tagged with multiple tags.

If someone with appropriate privileges will rename/create these platform tags and give me some way of changing platform tags in bulk (that is, by editing a single text file, rather than clicking through web pages), I volunteer to go through all 500+ Mac prods on Pouet and re-categorize them as best I can.

As we can see from these numbers, MacOS Arm now clearly fulfills the official "10-15 demos and prospect for more" guideline.

Let's DM about that when I get back from holidays (second half of September or early October)

Well, suffice to say that 060 demos get ported to say Atari Falcon (see TBL ones) because they rarely use any chipset features (060 is so fast that the chipset is nearly useless, it actually becomes rather a hurdle than help). And PPC demos - which are even faster - mostly use RTG (graphics cards) and not AGA, so your "much more like PC with its fast fancy processors" applies better than you probably intended. Amiga PPC platform is indeed a poor PC and, outside of Amiga OS API use (if any), shares very little with the rest.

I take your point though about RPi demos being uncommon and Amigas having had a very clear delineation that people lived through, which is why one is split into platforms and another isn't.

Among other people, myself is also definitely crafting a ESP32 demo, which fits in 640k at the moment, so I suggest this platform/scene s be called embeddoscene.

Demozoo btw has it's own pico catagory through the tag system, if you just wanna check prods available for pico https://demozoo.org/productions/tagged/rp2350/
