Looks like as if my gf takes care of my dog while the Evoke takes place.

So you won't discover me by spotting my small b/w cowish looking like doggie.

Oh, and I forgot to remind Dippy once again that I definatly WANT Amiga compos next year!!
added on the 2005-08-20 13:19:23 by ghandy ghandy
i'm rather sure the orgas won't mind playing an amiga demo in the pc compo (and mentioning that it's an amiga demo).

i mean i can't imagine a party refusing a demo "because it's on amiga". that'd be really really silly. right? guys? :)

Well, well, Evoke never rejected a single Amiga entry in the recent years.
Since there never was one.

I know that at least one intro is in preparation. A rather small one but at least one. And it's not surprising that no Amiga demos or intros show up if you don't ask the people to do them. Or if you don't announce miggy compos aswell as you announce pc compos.

Why not bring the girlfriend and the dog?! :)

ghandy, my silent suggestion was, why not mix them? evoke isn't breakpoint, they won't have 40 entries (demos+intros) for either platform anyway.

i doubt separate amiga compos at evoke would get any decent amount of entries, really.

Yeah, me too. Yet I'd love to see Amiga Entries. So the best you can do is to combine them, imho.

Well anyway. Only couple of days left. I am eagerly waiting for my train to come now. :D

Combined compos would be not perfect but the only solution it seems.

Skrebbel:Yes, guess you're right with your suggestions...

There is still the Wild Compo for alternative platforms, isn't it? And an Amiga entry is not unlikely to win it, because there are only very few entries. For me, this would be an incentive to produce something for it. I don't do Demos though.

Just came back home from Evoke '05. I wanted to thank the organizers for another really great, comfortable, funny and well organized party.

The new partyplace was definitely an improvement over the last one. The Toilets were super clean (I would have eaten my meals from the toilet floor!) the location itself was super big, with plenty of room to sleep or chat with friends. No need for a sleeping hall!

Great Party! Again... Thanks!

But the schnitzels were cold :\

Oh yeah, that reminds me about the only one thing about Evoke, which was lame: The Food-Support. Dunno what it was exactly, but... well I had this great Doener-Shop around the corner which had Doener from hell. It was bigger than my head.

The frikandel they served me was cold too. But that's really the only complaint I can think of.. :)

I´m waiting for the demo "archimedes" by BiteTheBytes.
Ranked 6th in the demo compo.
Isn´t up yet. I liked it.(I like spacedemos and this one in particular)
Anyone there who could upload it? Or do I have to wait for a final/fixed release?
btw who are BiteTheBytes? Can´t find em on pouet.
A new group?

Did they have hairschnitzel?

Again, I'm sorry I missed it, and most all the August parties. Fuckings to flu.

Yeah, as written at diskmag.de, Evoke 05 was a great experience that we won't forget that soon!! Extremly friendly orgas, everything was really very professional. Okay, a bit more entertainment between the compos would have maybe be good. But as I always had somebody to speak with, I cannot complain at all.

The live concert was quite brilliant!! Sad that so few people stood in front of the guys, that played their arses off. That rocked!!

Well, the food wasn't really cheap but okay. You can't have it all in a perfect way, that's simply impossible. And the people behind this project obviously worked very hard for making the party as good as possible.

Skyrunner: BiteTheBytes is a new group and that demo was their first product. And for a first demo it was a great rockin one! They wrote the whole (!) engine in c# and the demo in 3 Week marathon and they were even at the last evening doing some finishing touches till deadline at the party. Thats what I call a damn good work. Hope to see more from them...

btw. at the show there have been some problems with the playback because the show crew of evoke showed the demo directly from the computer of bitethebytes but the showscreen didn´t managed to play it in the installed screen-rate so they needed to adjust it. Thats the reason they started the demo again. But some people in the audienced rumored that would be a failure coming from c#, but this just wrong. I think such a lame comment is a shame. Remember a whole new engine and the demo in 3 weeks! Whoa!

So I hope we will see more from these cool dudes that will blow our minds away.
